That car is ------- clean, and yes...what is done to that engine other than a little bit of paint on the block and some chrome valve covers.

Even with just the parts visible it has more hp and torque than your car will ever have. :P

Re: giddy up giddy up giddy up

err well if i can remember off the top of my head.

chevy orange block paint 550-ftlbs of torque
SBC 400 bored .40 to 409cid
Lunati crank
Lunati lightweight race rods
hyperutecnic pistons 11.7:1
world products cast race heads 225cc
holly street dominator intake manifold
big valves dont remember the specs exactly
crane solid lifter cam 280/288 518/536
1.5 roller rockers
holly 750cfm DP
HEI dist
headman long tube headers <-- too small hp bottleneck
2 1/4 exhaust <--- hp bottleneck
2 1/4 turbo mufflers
muncie 21 4 speed
12 bolt rearend 3.73 gears
poly mounts and bushings and sway bar

its hard to make a guess on the power figures but if you twisted my arm id guesstimate 425-475hp 500-550 ft-lbs

we're seriously thinking about spraying 150 on it, but without drag radials or slicks which we dont have, the power is so unusable that its pretty much pointless. i guess you could squeeze in 4th 3/4ths down the track.

Re: giddy up giddy up giddy up

had some problems finding all the parts, they got scattered around in "the pile". when i was setting the timing i found out that there was no compression in the #1 cylinder, i thought maybe some tweeker stole the pistons out of the engine and sold them for crack. but i checked the valves and one of them wasnt closing lol. the rocker was way too tight. dunno how that happend.

it was funny cause my dad had his finger and on the plug hole and when it came up it blew his finger out and he jumped back. it was hilarious, lots of compression in the motor. it makes a big ol psssssh. sounds like a bov...

anyways im going to video tape the startin tomarrow. lol hope it goes good for the tape :-p
