Re: Gettin' high in the garage, and that ain't no bologne.

I know I've posted revealing pictures before, but nobody said anything. :-\

So after all the stupid ---- I've done to hondas, and all the good stuff I've done, I wanted to go full out balls to the wall everything I wanted from the ground up. During a trip to Ca. I found a guy who sold me a jdm front clip sitting in his driveway for $300. My wife works for an airline and we get 90% off shipping, so all in all it was about $400 for the complete clip. I wasn't thinking about doing RHD, but after the realization that this car could take up to 67 years to finish, and having a 400hp civic ain't ----, so I had to go off the deep end.
For the extra $400 in parts and my own labor, the car should hold value well out here in the land of dull white people, and I can say I did it.
The point of this whole car is for me to do every last bit of everything on it. So far, the TC crew/WI-FI crew
(HMT- Wisconsin Forced Induction) has helped out alot, and the only part to date that I won't be able to say I did is the valve cover. Jung4g powdercoated it for me. 8)

I figure I'm about $2500 from having a complete, rolling car in finished condition. Then I can send it to a storage unit to start building the motor. :'( (the costly part) I HAVE decided that my original idea of 2039230880 horsepowerz just isn't going to ever be finished, so I'm toning it down to 400-450, maybe a little nitrous for kicks, and maybe a little sound system. All the suspension is going to be cleaned, painted, and all new bushings installed this week. LSD Mike is working on some brake parts (to go with the v6 legend mastr cyl. and brake booster. :o :6). I'm contemplating stealth grey metallic or shadow grey metallic from the new pontiac grand prix, and as great as the stealth grey name is, I think the shadow grey is better. I'll have to go to the dealership to decide.

Other than that, the two wheel styles I'm looking at are:

https://www.tirerack.com/images/whee..._gry_ci3_l.jpg

or

https://www.tirerack.com/images/whee...anth_ci3_l.jpg

so there's my life story.

Both rims would look good, I'm partial to the SSR's though.

So when is the real deadline for this beast :P

MikeJ-2009 11-07-2006 11:23 PM

Re: Gettin' high in the garage, and that ain't no bologne.

There is no timeline. Before this week, I hadn't touched the car in about 2 months. It's a slow process, and I'm convinced that the longer it takes, the better it will be, so I don't sweat it.

No, I'm saying I'm building what I want without taking consideration of what ------s might think.

This is the epoxy primer to seal all the old finish and cover the bare metal. Bodywork goes on top of the epoxy, then more epoxy, then high build primer, then epoxy, then paint and clear. :-[ It hurts just to think about.

lookes good for a shell. you are putting all of this time in to it go for 550 hp, 600 witha samll shot of n20. that would be bad ass

MikeJ-2009 11-08-2006 12:13 AM

Re: Gettin' high in the garage, and that ain't no bologne.

I'm putting all this time into it because that's what I like to do. I've slapped turbos on shitbox cars and it's fun, but after a while you want to do something other than wait for the next part to break so you can spend more time fixing a car that is a pile of ----.

I'm trying to put all the time I would have spent fixing a shitbox into one big project and do everything the way I want the first time. :8

There's something about this statement that strikes a chord with me. I realized I like working on my projects more than driving them. My next project should be much nicer and much slower.

I gave him ---- for the moldings lol but we can't do much about it now. It'll still be mint in the end. More than i can say for other projects that i've seen. :l

werd, not too fond of the shaved moldings. The only Honda that it looks proper on is the "DC" integra

now all you need is orange paint and a street fighter body kit. :8

look sliek it's coming along nicely. a friend of mine wants me to ehlp him with his RHD conversion because he is to much of a ----- to drill out all the spot welds himself. not a bad price you got on your clip. i picked up a clip from a HMT member for $100 ;D, then sold it to my friend for $300 O0.
