------ sweet job on the pan :)

Re: gettin busy twin turbo 5.0 foxbody *update* x4
i thought about jackin the motor up as much as i can, but i asked around and its still a PITA to get the pan off. you gotta get the pan half way off, so you can see the oil pickup, then somehow reach inside and take off the pickup and then the whole pan came out.
and no i didnt drill the holes. i used a punch ;) then a bigger punch, then a 1/2 drive 1/2 sized socket to push it out even more. then i took my tap and dipped it in grease... to hole the shavings from the tap. and taped it. then threaded my fittings in and jbwelded around them. greasing up the tap is what vortech has you do on their s/c kits. i also bought a magnetic drain plug, and a magnet to put on the bottom of the pan. ya'll bitches who predict blown motor can lick... mah... balls :-* also installed my battery in the truck $9.99 battery box $16.00 welders cable 4 random bolts... my drill my old connectors = battery in the truck ;) http://www.draglab.com/jbliss/stang/mustang28.jpg http://www.draglab.com/jbliss/stang/mustang29.jpg |

Dang thats really a good idea, never really thought about just using a punch and making a hole. It wouldnt leave any materal at all in the pan, just flare it out. I'm so gonna do that to the pan on my boat.

i think I remember something about putting the maf on the intake side of the turbo, but that was a single turbo setup... looks hella interesting. I'm probably going to turbo this miata I found at the jyard for 500 bucks once I get the 5.0 swap in.
