G-tech Pro's for $35 :) You want one?

Well I just ordered one on ebay. I heard they are faily accurate so long as used correctly and all the tracks are closed for the season.

Anyways you cant go wrong for 35 bucks I thought I'd post about it. Guy has great feedback so I'd be confident ont the purchase.

those things work?

Re:G-tech Pro's for $35 :) You want one?

I thought those things went for like $100 or so, which makes me suspicious. But then again, they did just come out with a new model. But why would they want to take away from the new model purchases? Someone buy one, then let us know. lol.

If it gave accurate a/f readings I would buy it. haha

hey Tonics, you're going to have to let us know how it went.

Re:G-tech Pro's for $35 :) You want one?

I searched through forums and talked to several people most have had great luck with them. I guess the trap speed is usually a little off but the actual 1/4 time is within a tenth from their actual time slips.

Stealhmode the new version came out and typically these things were going for about 50 on ebay recently. This guy just bought a ton of them, anyways in his feedback the last one sold went for 46 or so and he lowered the price again.

When I get mine I'll le tyou know I ordered it a couple hours ago and paid with paypal

in fact its a nice toy
Gtech helped me improving my starting on 1/4 mile runs.
Becaus on stock tyres I had a serious traction problem and now i know from wich RPM I best start and stuff like this.
However its a very fragile device, if you dropped it then the measurement will be crap

Re:G-tech Pro's for $35 :) You want one?

I have one, well is my brother in law's, but I use it all the time, the speeds are really accurate. He ran 14.1-13.9 with it on his SRT-4 and at the track he did 13.8-13.9, they are just a little off, his trap speed with the g-tech was 95-99, at the track 99-101, so it is pretty good for street tuning and such. With it I lowered my speed on the 97 ex from 17.1 to 16.4. I just bought one for me, he lost his instructions and we could never figure out how to use some of it's functions so hopefully I get some instructions with this one.

The're great and for $35, I think I'm going to buy another one to resell it later ;)

Re:G-tech Pro's for $35 :) You want one?

me and a friend were gonna go half on a new model and use it to tune and figure out our readings with it. the new ones are like $230 on ebay! the new one is just more fancy and does a few more things but the original for $35 bucks :o, you cant beat that! i'm probably gonna get it too ;D

Re:G-tech Pro's for $35 :) You want one?

I have one of the older ones too. The ET is usually pretty dead on, however the trap is nuts most of the time. On my old accord it said I ran a 15.3 @ 112 mph

uhhhh

anyway for 35, why the hell not. You can estimate your own traps anyway assuming you know your cars weight.

just make sure you level them up well, or they REALLY give you fits :)

Re:G-tech Pro's for $35 :) You want one?

i've heard that you have to tilt the thing up/down to enter the weight of your car and from there it calculates the horsepower. for 1/4 mile, i think it just reads...---- i dont know but it reads!! ;D its weird that all you have to do is plug it in the cigarette lighter and wallaaa, instant 1/4 mile times etc.

i just found em too. i ordered one, ill let you know how it is. everything ive hear said the numbers are very close to what dyno's and 1/4 mile slips say. definitely worth the money.

when you plug it in, it first asks you to tilt it up/down and then center it (calibrates the G force sensor). then you punch the button until the weight of the car is on the screen.

Re:G-tech Pro's for $35 :) You want one?

the regular G-Tech sucks balls if you don't have a completely LEVEL road. i ran a 16.1@89.7MPH with it.. raced my friend that ran at the track 15.63 and was dead even with him till 90.. i don't trust them, never will. even for tuning, if you don't have the same road and road conditions it will be way off... sandy a little on some parts and where... more moist. i've heard good about the G-Tech Competition cuz the 1/4 mile goes with the weight of the car total.. wayy more accurate... get one and tell us what you think of it. but my past experiences with it, they suck. :)

Re:G-tech Pro's for $35 :) You want one?

Wow! I think I might spring for one to play around with. The current price is up a couple bucks to $38. Still worth it.

Also, I heard that if you make a run on an uphill incline, that it REALLY screws up the numbers. Don't know if theres any truth to that or not...

Those who bought-keep us updated to see if the seller is good and if it works!

Re:G-tech Pro's for $35 :) You want one?

I got mine but cannot test it good yet, it's raining like a mofo in FL. I tried to test the HP and of course the car was just spinning everywhere on the wet pavement and I got a wonderful 62hp reading. As soon as it clears down here I'll test it good. But the one I had used before, my brother-in-law's, work great, like I said before minimal difference to the track numbers.

Re:G-tech Pro's for $35 :) You want one?

The reason that the trap speeds differ from the track and G-tech is that the G-tech give your you the MPH you were at once you've traveled 1/4, while the track gives you an adverage time between two points at the end of the track, not the top speed you reached during the 1/4 mile.

The one I have is full of ----..

My brother's camaro used it and ran a better time than my friends 5.0 ( both using the same G-tech )( by like .7 !! ), but the stang waxed my bro by like 4 cars EVERYTIME..

Can't believe the new model is supposed to be accurate to .01 !!!! That's insane !! It comes with 3 G meters vs the old one only having 1..

the track doesnt give you an adverage, its your top speed at the end of the 1/4

correct. but it does use two points at the end to determine you speed :P

Re:G-tech Pro's for $35 :) You want one?

A track calculates your speed from the time it takes you to finish the last 60ft. So it is an average...of the last 60ft of your run.

Re:G-tech Pro's for $35 :) You want one?

i won the auction last week, i paid paypal, it came yesterday night, so i got it like a week-ish later. So far ive tried it in my 4g accord (92) lx auto and it gave me 17.6 @ 81.4 and 9.76 0-60... Ok i know the car is slow as ass (my project 3g accord is in winter storage) but it sounds accurate to me for a 92 accord lx coupe (stock). Last time i was at the strip they were running 17.3-17.5 with 91 accord lx 5 speed sedans, stock.
