I highly doubt the black kid kept his mouth shut when those white kids harassed him. I'm sure he had somethin smart to say.
And as for black people saying something and doing something else, that's an even bigger generalization than the ones even I made. Maybe you don't see it where you live, but I see people getting "jumped" every day - and it's not white people doing the "jumping". I don't have blind hatred for black people, but when you live in a town like mine where every black guy thinks he's the hottest ---- since tookie...well it gets on your nerves.
I'm only racist against people who can't mind their own business and leave me the ---- alone. I don't have a problem with anybody until they have a problem with me. Problem is, a lot of people in this town, in this world, have a problem with me because I'm white or because I'm opinionated.
I still say they got way more time than they deserved...the kid is still alive and even forgave them, making an example out of these kids doesn't prove ---- to me - ----, it doesn't even make sense since this type of crime isn't all that common. Atleast nowhere near as common as others that are a bigger problem than this.

oh now I see...so the inncent kids were provoked to beating him since he MIGHT have reacted "smartly" to them initiating the harrasment by calling him a ------. damn you aren't racist, you're just plain stupid.

I'm not saying the kids were right by doing it, not by any means. They're no better than anybody else who "jumps" people regardless of their color.
He knew damn good and well why they were beating him, and he probably had a hand in provoking it.

He didn't disappear, he was "lynched" by a large group of black people...only he didn't survive. Nobody got jail time over it and they still haven't found his remains. That happened less than 10 minutes from here.
I would imagine that the attitude of people in general varies from location to location, not just black people. I'm not really trying to stir people up here either but I think it's ridiculous that people actually believe they deserve 2.5 years in prison and need to be made an example for something as petty as this. Yes, I do think it's petty since they apologized and the kid that got beat forgave them...IMO that's almost as far as this needs to be taken - especially since the kid forgave them. He's the ****** that got beat, not the judge. 2.5 years in prison is utterly ridiculous considering the circumstances.
