and a monkey with a sledgehammer went to town on the intercooler

Re: fucking outragious price for an assembled turbo kit....

if that kit was on a stock d16 or something that the tuning would be close, id say its worth 1500 or so... but not 3000

Isn't that guy on HMT? I remember the name "Castor Troy" and I remember that bent up intercooler.

Re: fucking outragious price for an assembled turbo kit....

I have almost that same kit except with a bigger IC, dualcore rad, split pulse topmount, and neptune RTP. I was still under $2k after adding up all the parts. Unless there's a Gold Bullion brick in the picture that I didn't see.

Re: fucking outragious price for an assembled turbo kit....

but it says he spent the time getting all the RIGHT parts. he's already done the hard work (all the rocket science to figure what size turbo). i would say its worth that ::)

Re: fucking outragious price for an assembled turbo kit....

You can get a brand new never used turbo kit for that much.......

Some include bigger injectors, piggy back for fuel, and other odds and ends that almost make it worth it.

---- that. I wouldn't even sell my 420a kit for that much.

$500 max.

If somebody buys it for that much, their loss. Really. It doesn't take alot of homework to peice a kit together for $500-1200 but i guess maybe that is what the buyer would be paying for. The time invested to save the og owner money......

Still, that's insane.

i'm not going to peice key peices of the kit out. this kit is very specific to the car, the turbo, the wastegate, the bov, pretty much every damn thing...

The intercooler does not leak. I dunno exactly what happened, maybe someone started jacking the car up on it... but it was the intercooler used on Kerry Keiser's del sol and Billy Freemans Si if you need references.

The ecu currently has eCtune on it. Its THE most comprehensive honda tunning software on the market and it just went on the market like a month ago. Check it out at ectune.com

Re: fucking outragious price for an assembled turbo kit....

Gotta pay for what you want.

I did spend more than $3500 on every peice plus labor for welding.

Its mine to sale and if you don't like the price the try negotiating. Never have I seen bitching about it, fix the price.

Its complete and I didn't want to sell it. I didn't build it thinking that one day I would have to sale it. But now my plans change and I'm in a pinch. So I looked at the project I've been working on for almost a year now and whacked off somewhere in the range of 5-8 hundred dollars of the dollar amount thrown at it. Fair in my book since I only drove across the city 2 good times getting into boost only a couple of times. The wastegate never even opened.

Do me and the viewing public a favor if you think its sooooo outrageous, buy each of these parts in the same or better condition using the same or better quality parts, then pay a tig welder who knows what he is doing to make it all fit in the engine bay of a CRX. Show us the final price tags for review. Until then suck my cock.

C'mon fuckheads, you wanna size me up then lets go

do the work to size me up right

this isn't an ek kit, this kit is what it is. HY35 turbo in a crx with the parts that are there.

enjoy instant map changes, datalogging and eCtune with the ostrich.

enjoy the availability and reasonable price that you can find an HY35 for if you make a mistake and ---- it up

enjoy the V-band bling

enjoy the tig welds

enjoy the brand new parts

enjoy not having to scrounge up parts here and there... have everything in one fell swoop

Econo-Box 04-15-2008 12:23 AM

Re: fucking outragious price for an assembled turbo kit....

Better? then why do you keep posting up "knockoff" lol

listen dude i appreciate you making the effort but you just have not considered the minimal amount of space in a crx engine bay or the quality of the fab work...

Castor Troy 04-15-2008 12:44 AM

Re: fucking outragious price for an assembled turbo kit....

dtrain, you're describing a kit that is much different than what I'm selling, do you not see, yet?

lol i'll throw my slimline fan in to sweeten the deal.

I'm easy goin about this and can accommodate anyone interested in turboing their b-ef, i can even provide the b-swap, and the ef...

its an outrageous deal not an outrageous price

beaker 04-15-2008 01:02 AM

Re: fucking outragious price for an assembled turbo kit....

i would like to see the break down in prices and where you bought them from...

i will give you credit...there are some quality, well researched parts there....but even buying EVERYTHING brand new, i still cant understand 4 grand....barely even 3 grand.... that turbo may be worth a good chunk of $$$$ but what about a warranty...if i buy a new one it better damn come with one...the intercooler is bent to hell...i dont know how it holds pressure. i hate to break it to you...but your not going to recoop your investment in this...ill tell you what you can do...invest in some "crome" spray paint...paint damn near everything with it...slap some JDM stickers on it and sell it on honda tech...some rich young dumbass may be stupid enough to buy it....

your best bet is to part it out....somebody may be desperate for a certain part

Re: fucking outragious price for an assembled turbo kit....

If I had the receipts I would break it all down, but I don't so I won't.

3k is reasonable for everything I have listed in my opinion.

If an individual is truely interested in buying the kit then step up and make an offer to pay the asking price, or what you think I will accept for it. Like I said I'm in a pinch, but I've already reduce the price from the dollar amount that I have put into it. Not to mention the effort and time it took to get it all together in one place.

beaker 04-15-2008 01:21 AM

Re: fucking outragious price for an assembled turbo kit....

well..youve already said you wont do this..but ill throw it out there anyways...but a buddy of mine in tupelo would be interested in the mani/turbo and ecu/ostrich...if your willing to part out...ill let him know. thats the best i can do

Castor Troy 04-15-2008 01:28 AM

Re: fucking outragious price for an assembled turbo kit....

Thanks, but judging by the amount of time and effort it took, I'm gonna stick with my "everything together in one place" sales pitch.

Re: fucking outragious price for an assembled turbo kit....

I built my ef B series turbo kit, no knock off ----, tial BOV and gate, garrett T3 .60/.63, Im still OBDO w/turbo edit, Tullos tech EBC, ARPs, DSM 450s, JRC IC, Alum EG civic Rad and slim fan, 2.5 bar map sensor, etc... and I spent around $1500 on it and could easily upgrade a few things to make it equal or better to your kit...and since you threw it on the car and ran it even if it was around the block, it isn't new anymore..oh yea and mine wasn't mad tyte TIG weld but but some grinding and paint/powdercoat makes them look better anyways...

to each there own, if you want $3K throw it on ebay I'd say an asking price of $2k is more reasonable

gen4acclude 04-15-2008 01:53 AM

Re: fucking outragious price for an assembled turbo kit....

your ---- aint worth the cheese from under my nuts with it mad tyte tig welds lol, real asking price of 1k is about it
