If it doesn't fire you either have a bad gasket somewhere or ignition issues.

^this will answer all

So I tried to start it up again today and it was kicking a bit.... but still no go. I pulled off the pulse line and didn't feel a pulse. What does that mean? Any suggestions on a next step?

sounds like a good idea..... especially considering that some smoke comes into the intake after cranking. How do I go about getting to them?

Takes the carbs off. Clean them while you're at it.

Re: fucking jet skis

alright. and when I pull them off what exactly am I looking for.

* just pulled the carb and the little intake manifold off... sitting in the intake mani was a little pool of gas.........
It looked like it was more towards the back cylinder but I think it might just be because the ski isn't completely flat.
I put the carb and intake back on and it was kicking, shooting exhaust out, but not starting. Once I pull the intake, where are the reed valves and what would they not be doing?

I'm pretty sure those kawa's don't use reed valves.

Re: fucking jet skis

Do they use a rotary valve instead?

If it has reeds they will be right behind the velocity stacks and they are sort of a one way valve that is sort of triangular.
