This is awesome!!! My PC kept on locking up on me yesterday no matter what I did online or locally. It was pissin me off to no end and was ready to take this PC to a shop. All I did was clicked on Quadnie's links and downloaded all the software and now my computer is faster than ever! Ha ha ha.. Thanks mang! My friend ask me how I got it fixed, I told him I fixed it through homemadeturbo. He is like.... "huh?... on a turbo forum?... WTF?"... ha ha ha...
Again HMT saved me some money... a few more bucks to donate to Abaz.... Jeff check your paypal!

Yeah, HMT attracks a few computer geeks like me and PureCRXtasy. Glad I could help. If anyone needs a free retail version of Mcafee virus scanner, PM me.

I was told by a couple of my buddies to run Norton Ghost, I'll probably start imaging when I get my new computer built.

good luck ghosting somebodies 100+ gig, full of useless ---- hard drive. if you really wanted to do that, maybe you might want to have separate partitions on your drive. have a very small system partition(aka c drive), and partition the rest of the drive just for storage space. if something goes wrong, all of your personal data will be safe on a "d drive" or whatever letter you want to call it. this way you can just ghost your system settings and not have to waste time restoring 80 gigs of ****.

I don't know what the hell you are talking about. We are talking about ghosting OS + Updates + Drivers.. maybe some small core applications.

You really think I'm going to ghost all my videogames and ****? And if I had all this extra hard drive space for worthless partitions then I'll just store the 80+ gigs of **** (or whatever) on it so I can always have immediate access to it.

We aren't talking about just ghosting anybodies computer, like I'm going to go around and offer to ghost everyones computer.. ---- that, the people can just flash the OS themselves and sit thru all the windows updates. We are only talking about ghosting are own machines for us power users who need fresh formats for whatever reasons.

on peoples computers that they dont want me to reformat i run SpyBot S&D and TrendMicro.com free virus scan and this usually fixes everything for them until they download more spyware and viruses and call me in a few months again. ive seen it so bad that a 2+ghz computer with 512mb of memory runs slower than my 25mhz 486 i had.

Im currently using Opera's browser. I like it alot. Seems immune to pop-ups. I like its features as well. The DL manager is nice.

Stop using WinMX and Imesh for your **** needs, that will help out :P

that is exactly what i am talking about. putting your personal data on a separate partition would prove useful to make it a simpler operation. this way, you can just take an image of your cdrive(aka [OS + Updates + Drivers] - personal data/video games/****), and if your system configuration gets blown you can just use that image and leave the other partition alone.

You really think I'm going to ghost all my videogames and ****? And if I had all this extra hard drive space for worthless partitions then I'll just store the 80+ gigs of **** (or whatever) on it so I can always have immediate access to it.

huh? last time i checked, "worthless partitions" did not take up any "extra" hard drive space. if you dont cut up a pie, or if you cut it into four pieces, it is still the same amount of pie. it still holds the same amount of crust, filling, etc. maybe you misunderstood me, or i misunderstood you, but what i mean to say is to keep all of your data on a separate partition(on the same drive). this way your data can be more organized and you wont waste time imaging video games/****/mp3s/etc.

i wasnt talking about that either. most end users are not going to have their hard drives chopped up into partitions. however, partitioning your drive into multiple partitions is a great way to keep things organized and avoid potential headaches. your cdrive is fucked? ok then, erase ALL data on the cdrive and then restore the image. your personal ---- will never get touched because it resides on a separate partition, thereby eliminating possible data loss.
