God damn it I hate computers. It might be the vodka ------- with me, but I cannot get this god damn wireless piece of ---- to work no matter what I do. I have a linksys wireless-G USB adapter and a linksys wireless-B router. Yes, they work together because I got them to work on my computer. I'm trying to get this fucker to work on my girlfriends computer which has windows 98 and it just doesn't ------- work. Unlike the god damned ------- directions say, it is NOT plug&play. This pile of ---- would NOT work when I plugged it in. I had to download ---- from the internet to get it to work on my computer with XP, but when I tried to download the same ---- on my GF's computer it wouldn't ------- work and I'm very pissed about this. I've downloaded so many god damned drivers and NONE OF THEM WORK!! :7 This is so ------- gay. Why didn't this piece of ---- come with software?? If I bought this god damned thing to get on the internet, but I need internet to get it to work, how the ---- is that going to work?? This is so ------- stupid. I'm ready to throw this whole ------- thing outside and let someone steal it. So ------- stupid.....

You just need to download and install the drivers for it if it's win98. If it's on XP, it's plug and play.

Go to the linksys website, they should have the drivers for it to download.

I've downloaded every ------- imaginable driver and I still have nothing. It's working right now with my computer on XP flawlessly, but not at all on 98. ::)

my best advice. call teh tech support. ive installed mine 3 times, 2 on the same computer. each ------- time i have to call tech support....turns out they outsourced to india the first too times.....then the 3rd time i got some chink bitch named elf from the ------- philipines.......and she barely spoke coherent english...."wha you nee to do es unploug the wouter"

Yeah, that sounded like a great idea. I started the instal.....then after it deleted 98 and any hope of me figuring this out, it tells me there was a problem installing XP for some retarded ass reason and they had to stop. ::) Of course they tell me this AFTER they erase the god damn OS that was already on there. ::) ---- this....

Ok, so how do I get this driver that is properly working on my computer onto a hard disk and then into another computer with XP that can't hook up to the internet? ??? :l Basically, how do I put the ------- driver onto a disk? ::)

you put the driver on the disk, go to your hardware manager go to the properties of your wireless card, change driver, select your cd drive for it to search for the driver. it will find it and install it.

I know it's been a long time since I've used the ------- CD drive, but my computer is acting like it doesn't have one. ::) I go to media player and it says I don't even have a DVD or a CD burner. ::) I can't win with these piece of ---- machines. I just want to throw them all in the trash and ---- the internet. :7

Wow. So I go to my computer and it shows nothing about ever having a ------- cd drive. ::) I can put a cd in, but nothing happens and I can't burn or play or nothing. ::) This is so ------- ridiculous. I don't think anything pisses me off more than computers. :7

Yeah, it's official, my CD drive took a ----. No matter what I put into the CD drive, nothing happens. It opens, closes, makes some noise and sounds like it's doing something, but nothing ever happens. :S This is awesome. It's just one ------- problem after another. Time for a new computer. :3

Dont sweat it Justin, as great as computers are, they really do have a lot of flaws. After you download the drivers, did you need to unzip them and install them or did your comp automatically do it?

I had to call linksys to get mine to work. I had to change so much damn stuff I would of never figured it out.

ive had more problems with linkysys products than any of my other routers. the drivers gave me some ---- about not detecting an internet signal.
ive also had a netgear router wich was better with its upgradable firmware but still sucked donkeyballs.
so far my belkin router has worked flawlessly for a year with zero issues or complaints.
ive still got my linksys router in my room with dust all over it so i might set it on fire to put it to good use.

i have a us robotics wired router, that has been good to me, and also a wireless linkysys that hasnt given me any problems.

Sounds good.

I downloaded Roxio CD creator(the disk wouldn't work because the CD drive stopped working)and now the CD drive works again. ::) I put the drivers on a CD to put onto the other computer. If this doesn't work, then ---- it. :3 I got about 2 hours of sleep last night, worked a 10.5 hour day and here I am.

like the one guy said usb was supported with win 98SE but they do have some ---- thatll make regular win98 support usb as well... that could be it. if u cant get it then upgrade to windows 2000pro its simple and doesnt require anymore than win98 does...

Well, the computer with win98 is now fucked so I don't have to worry about doing anything to that one. ::) I'm going to try to use the restore CD, but if that doesn't work it's going in the trash. I'll try my method on the XP tonight. I can't wait. ::)

Well that didn't ------- work. I tried to plug my modem into this anciant piece of ---- and nothing happened. It keep[s saying it needs drivers and it can't find any, but this is all plug&play ----. I thought plug&play didn't need drivers?? God damn it, this other computer has been on the internet with this same setup using a cable modem and a USB cable to connect, but it won't ------- work now. It detected the modem, but it says it can't use it because it has no drivers. Why do I need drivers? Then it asks me if I want to connect to the interent to find the drivers. ::) Yeah, go ahead and connect to the interent you ------- retarded pile of ----. :7

Drivers tell your computer how to use ----. Your comptuer doesn't know what it is or what it does until you have the drivers there. Operating systems come with default drivers that can run some things, but you usualy always have to install ethernet drivers.

Ok, but if this is a "plug&play" modem that doesn't come with any drivers.....HOW THE ---- AM I SUPPOSED TO GET DRIVERS IF I CAN'T GET ON THE INTERNET????? :7 This ---- is stupid. I know this computer can use the ------- thing because 2 months ago it was using this same exact setup and nothing has been erased or changed since then. :3

you probably installed something thats causing a driver conflict. meaning 2 or more drivers are set to control the same device, or the wrong driver is trying to control the device.

I have -0- drivers instadded on that computer so that can't be. The driver I tried to load from the CD said "read only" so I couldn't use that ----.

Doesn't anybody know how to fix this? :'(

find out what ethernet device your computer uses, download drivers, burn them on a cd, install them.
