Our fourth my old college buddy's father has a big barbeque and fireworks show with his neighboors and the rest of the block on Lake Tapps. One of the neighboors is part indian and orders mortar shells in bulk by the case.

Typically a couple grand is spent over 3 houses and is set up on the docks. The display has made a blurb in the local paper over the last 2 years....

This is how I spend my 4th.....

The Pyrodex for the minature .68 cal cannon that I fire... you can hear the report echo across the lake and back 2-3 times.

Here we are in my buddy's dads yard, tying the mortar shells into series of 4 the whole family gets in on it....(even grandpa in the background)

The goods...

Our dock....mortar tubes set up

Neighboor's docks...

The fun part....using torches

The result

When those things go off 4 at a time, the dock moves, and you literrally feel the ground shake. At the end of a dock I light the cannon, if you stand in front of the cannon you can actually feel the preasure waves

The 4th of July fireworks sucked this year... I thought they messed up and set off too many fireworks... turns out it was the grand finale... it gets worse every year

we did set a lot of stuff off though and I got some bottle rockets to set off today so july 5th will be fun too lol
