Flat + Clear = ?

Default Flat + Clear = ?
Hey guys, what happens if you put a layer of clearcoat over flat black? Does it become glossy or something? Or does it become more of a semi-gloss sort of thing?

it would be more of a semi gloss to gloss. but you can get a matte clear coat that keeps it flat.

Yeah, I remember I painted a truck in a semigloss black paint once. Any autobody supply shop or one that can mix paint will be able to mix it up for you depending on if you want flat or semi gloss.

if u sand the flat black down to smooth it out, put a few layer of clear coat will mke it shine
