I run my car very rich and retarded the timing, to prevent detonation, and I can make my car backfire whenever I want. I try not to do it so I don't blow up the muffler or burn my exhaust valves.
Easiest way to do it is to run rich(floor the pedal) and then turn off your car and then back on again, works for me everytime.
Don't know why you would want to do this though.

Actually Hondas/Acuras use Fuel Cutoff for a rev limit, not spark.

And if you really want some cool backfiring, just take your screw off of your distributor rotor and go drive it around.. right Beau?

yeah but i've seen hondas with aftermarket clutch cuts or something, they use spark to limit rpm. i seen a turbo geo prizm at woodburn dragstrip. it used a spark rev limiter and it shot sparks out the exhaust.
