Nice, but I don't know about how correct that last slip is. You pull consistent 110+ traps at mid 12s wit 2.0ish reactions then the last is OVER 20mph SLOWER and .3sec faster with a 1.7 60' on drag radials on *probably* a less than perfect drag suspension set-up.


Digging the EJ6 love though, good work.

haha the slips are accurate. like i said i was in the 12.5 class and you cant go over 12.5 thats why i was letting of and even braking on the last run.

I have yet to see a REALLY impressive D-Series build in an EJ full interior car. They aren't THAT heavy either. D-SeriesW00t or w/e is the only EJ that really did anything impressive. Low 12s is acutally pretty decent on this build.

that was in the finals tho. i gambled and lost both :'(
but ya, my last two runs were the fastest. 7.88 and 7.70 in the 1/8 are 11 sec. runs for sure...well, that what my tuner sais.
it was a hot day and as the night went on the car got quicker. you can see on the lest slip it said 10:23pm.

I had a slip for 1.6 60' and 13.7 at 97mph..... I didn't want to say anything, but yea...


Floydy had 12.2 with a 1.2 60' before at like 107mph.

It's not an issue of tires bud, it's an issue of 60' times and set-up. I have traction bars and so does Floyd and he or I can't do 1.7's. Shoot, best I can swing on bald all-seasons are 2.2s. His best was high high 1.8 like, 1.89 or something on DR's like that.

its probably one of you guys that is getting on the local forum just to stir up ----. he ran a 1.797 thats .003 off from a 1.8 its not like he ran an unbelievable 1.7000000.

was it a once in a lifetime, on the money launch....yea

was it a fluke....no.

the track prep was very good that night, it was prepped for street cars as everyone there was running on some sort of dot drag radial...it was the Street Machine Nationals. there were lots of cars there that were running there best ever times.....the guy that laid down the only 8 second pass of the day ran an 8.64 and wheelied the first 60' of so...he said that was the best run he has ever made there, and the one and only time he has ever wheelied on his drag radials. track prep was on the money...imo that was a major factor in the 1.797 60'.

zex_cool has been down a long hard road with this car and truly desevers some respect and some props, he drove his ass off and made it to the finals in his first time at the track on his new build.....good job mang. ;D

You've never even driven a boosted car. Get real....hating? It's a simple $500 built D with a launch that most people don't see on 20" slicks. Expierence, knowledge, whatever you want to call it I have that upper hand and just as someone else stated it's not a common thing. I've seen track errors and I've gone to officials and said something and got the "oh no, everything is fine". Yeah, I pulled a 1.6 60' on all-season tires. ::) He's in a pig heavy, full interior coupe with nothing more than probably average dropped springs NOT 900lbs rear drag springs, NO traction bars, and his first time at the track. Look at the facts not the miracle. You get out there and get around the real deal you'd understand what goes on outside CFT and H-T dyno queens.


Hating, ha. I'm stating the obvious normalities of these common builds. No doubt he probably DID hit it, but who knows he patted the gas and braked so much who knows what trap speed he'd had.


In this case, bow to Floyd he hit 1.2 60' on BFGs and me to a 1.6 on all-seasons. Track officials said times were accurate so I guess I'm the best driver out there....no such thing as tech error...


He'll go to the track again. Dial his driving and get those consistent 12.3s with 1.8 60's and know for sure. Did it once, do it again, right?

lol well its a fully gutted coupe, sitting on full tokico coilovers, he knows how to drive, this is NOT his first time at the track it IS his first time at the track with his built block and running high boost.

i tweaked his 2 step for him at the track and leaned out teh top end a bit to give him the edge....we were working with tire pressure all night, and GOD FORBID he ------- nailed it. it probabaly was a freak thing that he got out of the whole so good, but watch the video....that thing BOOKED out of the hole the last run.

it happened believe it or not, there is video proof of it....our local track is very well known for having an accurate timing system. i have been racing out there for 10+ years now and i bet i have had 1 timeslip ever that looked funny. temps were 70 degrees, corrected alt, was prolly less than 1k above sea level, he was in the finals so track prep was prime, and he ------- nailed it.
