first project

hey guys. im starting my first project soon(hopefully next year) and i just wanted to lay it out for you guys so i can get some feedback

The List:
#1 get the lightest car i can find( preferably a crx :P )

#2 swap a b18c (the jdm type-r) into it, ive never done a swap and this will be my first project so i kinda wanted to go big.

#3 make about 500 whp/tq and at least a high 10 sec 1/4 mile

now i realize this is going to take alot of tinkering and i plan on doing it right even though this will be my first swap and first turbo project(ive been reading up for quite a while, though i dont have any real experience). Im getting the garrett t3/t4 (t04e) hybrid to start so i can boost big, but i really dont know much on how to set up a good kit. i know how all the parts work but i dont know which parts exactly to get. i need some suggestions on what i should get ( besides the turbo cuz i already picked it out)

im probably going to get my intercooler from johnnyracecar cuz they seem to have good prices

im thinkin about getting a tig welder(even though ive never welded before, but how hard could it be?) and making my own manifold.

i might use the stock injectors on the type-r depending on how big they are.

im definately using the sv/afc

well other than those things i would really LOVE some suggestions on what i should use to acheive my goal

Jake ;D

i know i read that already but what im asking is for suggestions on which kinds of all those parts i should get

like what do you guys use on your setups. i asked because i know you know which ones are good and which ones arent, im not asking because i dont know how to build one :P but thanks tho

for 500 whp try 950-1000cc injectors.and a differant turbo ballbearing type t4 IF you say you want to go BIG. ;)

You must have some damn deep pockets man! You first post is funny about the injectors and afc. You have a lot of reading/learning to do. You will need some huge injectors. You are talking about making like 575 hp to the motor. You will need like 900 cc inj and stand alone. Give your turbo specs that you've picked out for some feedback. Most likely it is too small. You have some some very big goals, but I guess go big or go home. :)

IMO start small...for a beginnner, "big dreams = big nightmares" 99% of the time

I say start out slow...aim for a nice REASONABLE mark(maybe 250-300hp or so), get your bearings and a feel for the car...plan to move on the next stage after that. I've seen guys throw $1000s into their first BIG setup and blow ---- up first day. IMO go slow...

ahahah 500whp on a stock b18c5

keep dreaming buddy bro
especially since u know nothing about cars and how they react to power and such

Re:first project

B16MIKE is right. If you gonna be running around stock fuel pressure you will probably need at least 1000 cc inj and a bigger turbo.
