first gen integra LS w/ d16a1, what trans? 5spd manual.
trying to find out what trans, its a running car, shifts fine, but no underbody mounts left thanks to rust.
i can get this "engine/trans for $300" is it a deal? is this transmission any good? |
Re: first gen integra LS w/ d16a1, what trans? 5spd manual.
trans only bolts into 86-89 integra
84-87 crx with d16a1 basically if you dont have that chassis look elsewhere |
Re: first gen integra LS w/ d16a1, what trans? 5spd manual.
Or you can try the uber-ghetto way and fab up your own custom mounts to fit into an ED/EF chassis. Did that for a friend, solid mount out of plate steel...car rattled like a mofo and like to break ----. :P

That one kid on here bolt a Z6 into his 1G teg. Said that the tranny slid right on but just didn't use a couple bolts.

That is true but again the mounts like up in the 1st gen teg/1st gen crx/3rd gen civic You have to use all the 86-89 clutch/flywheel They are built tough I believe bisi was using the 86-89 teg trans for sometime |
Re: first gen integra LS w/ d16a1, what trans? 5spd manual.
I use a 91 crx si tranny with the d16a1

CG trans FTW!!
Give $100 for the drivetrain. If the car's rusted away the drivetrain needs gone through. |

Re: first gen integra LS w/ d16a1, what trans? 5spd manual.
actually, theres quite a few drag cars running the cg transmission. some honda specific machine shop makes an adapter plate specifically for the h22 to put the a1 tranny on it.
the d seres trannys have stubby gears that make them strong |
Re: first gen integra LS w/ d16a1, what trans? 5spd manual.
Whats CG mean?
Anyways I'm running that same transmission and it seems to be ok.. Close ratio gears is nice but 5th gear is a little too low (and i'm too lazy to do the accord gear swap) The diff blew up but I hear they are weak in most all the D series transmissions anyways. I paid 65 for the transmission, not sure about the engines worth Some people have put this combo into 88-91 civic/crx as a cheap zc alternative but for less work it'd be more at home in an older honda |

Older Honduhs weigh a fuckton less, but have lots less room in the nose.
