First boost setup! Need opinions/help!
Im doing my first boost setup on my D16y8...Im picking up a 1gen bov, T25 turbo, saab IC, and DSM resistor box this weekend..After that ill be wanting to spend around 800-1100 on the rest. Any opinions? My car is a 96 sol si...Stock for the most part (stock exhaust, cooling)..I need everything including Injectors, ems setup, etc, for under the above amount.
Thanks,
Nick

ems and a turbo kit won't be possible for $1100. It sounds like your rushing into this because you have the money. Do yourself a favor and check out some different ways of doing it. I think you'll regret buying an ems for a street car when you really don't need to. Answer this: Do you want to spend a month here learning and then sutup the kit, or do you want blow the money now on stuff you don't need, then once you realize what you did, kick yourself in the ***?
It really sounds like you should take it slow.IMO

well, on the other hand, if you know you are the kind of person who gets bored with something really fast and you know you're going to upgrade, you could also have it built to ---- the first time. Just make sure you know what you're doing. I'd say blow 2 motors before you build one you're gonna keep. I got bored with my ---- really soon so I tried making it faster but starting with a non-perfomance oriented motor was a mistake. I think the best investment first is getting together a super-solid motor that won't let engine strength limit what you can do with an otherwise solid setup.
