finally hmt'd my car, and it runs
6 Attachment(s)
update: car made a mean 167whp on the awd mustang dyno tuned with uberdata at 5-8psi (my gauge shows 8psi other equipment there showed 5. it feels pretty quik though for a stock sohc
after reading alot on here, where i learned everything i know, my ghettofied turbo kit is finally installed kinda thought id post some pics if anyone cares worst charge pipe ever: Attachment 35874 besides this one: Attachment 35875 walmart flat black intercooler and pipes Attachment 35876 crap boost gauge install: Attachment 35877 tight exahust (no downpipe and i suck at welding anything) Attachment 35878 money shot i guess: Attachment 35879 i have no air filter cause my ebay one dont fit in the tight space, and no downpipe yet.. so i drove it around the block, i think i got it up to like 3-4 psi or somthin insane crazy like that. enough to hear that sound of this 1g dsm bov, sounds good. its really long and drawn out pssshhhh i had to pull back in the driveway and stare at my car and smoke after that. i still need to rig up a catch can or some kinda pcv system, and clean up the hoses n ----, but it runs. tonight im gona put my chipped ecu and 450's probly. |
Re: finally hmt'd my car, and it runs
haha ncie, now THATS hmt man. let us know how it runs
|
Re: finally hmt'd my car, and it runs
how much did it cost total?
|
Re: finally hmt'd my car, and it runs
i would say close to $700 but that includeds a chipped ecu and injectors n stuff, i spent 195 of the bov, 14b, and injectors alone, plus the intercooler and countless trips to hardware stores for misc junk it adds up quik
today i dropped 25$ on real clamps and some truck shop too, then some old trucker guy asked me if i was usin em on my honda with one of those stupid ass huge mufflers that sound like ----. i laughed and told him yeah, but mines not loud and slow |
Re: finally hmt'd my car, and it runs
HMT at its finest, awesome :8
|
Re: finally hmt'd my car, and it runs
wtf???
:P good stuff man. |
Re: finally hmt'd my car, and it runs
Sweet.Mandatory DSM junk yard parts and lots of JB weld. :y Nice work.
|
Re: finally hmt'd my car, and it runs
LOL good ----.. thats what i call ghettofab :)
|
Re: finally hmt'd my car, and it runs
rotate that compressor housing and you can eliminate some charge piping.
|
Re: finally hmt'd my car, and it runs
but then i have to rig some ---- bracket for the wastegate..
can anyone tell me which fricken wires i put the resistors on? all clips have a common yellow/black wire is it that one? |
Re: finally hmt'd my car, and it runs
keeping it real :y
|
Re: finally hmt'd my car, and it runs
ive seen worse

Re: finally hmt'd my car, and it runs
Hot wires go to the red wire on the resistor box and the cold wires each get their own black one, got it? good.

Re: finally hmt'd my car, and it runs
im using radio shack resistors. i put them on the common yellow/black
|

This has to be Front Page Material. Stealing Mom's coat hangers to wire up your exhaust. LOL. Classic. :y Where your boost gauge is, you can pop that out and then center the top and bottom. Then using a half bastard and rattail file, file in a half moon shaped groove and slide the gauge in. https://www.homemadeturbo.com/turbo_...mgp00673cq.jpg I BET that turbo whistles having just the exhaust housing. LOL. I remember when my DP was off. REALLY whiny. Are you gettin a DP? Connecting it to a full exhaust? Looks good though. Clean some crap up though. Oh yea, Dad agrees, that IS a ugly ghetto upper charge pipe. LOL. Looks like bird poop on the flange and, dare I ask, hot glued Air Temperature Sensor? LOL. I love it. LOL. ;D JP |
Re: finally hmt'd my car, and it runs
If your JB weld looks that bad I would hate to see a real welder in your hands.... nice ghetto job though :8
|
Re: finally hmt'd my car, and it runs
that's ------- awesome. finally, someone else w/ their bov jb welded on! :6
|
Re: finally hmt'd my car, and it runs
tight as prom night there buddy! nice job
|
Re: finally hmt'd my car, and it runs
the air intake temp sensor is epoxy'd to hell. and with a welder in my hands it looks like bird ---- and holes thats why i have no down pipe. i grinded some of that jb off and sprayed it it looks alot better. im probly gona have a down pipe made somewhere for now then full turbo back soon. o need to learn how to or get my car tuned then a stage 2 clutch from lsd in the spring.
o ya and it dont run anymore. my chipped ecu was bad. now i have the 450s and resistors in there and nothing to run it for now |
Re: finally hmt'd my car, and it runs
i cut the j pipe commin off the turbo and tried to weld it and started to make holes, so i jb welded that too. i think i spent like $20 on jb weld when i was done, there some on the oil pan too, its pretty much everywhere

Re: finally hmt'd my car, and it runs
look's like your pretty desperate for boost, but props man and congratulations on your first HMT setup
|
Re: finally hmt'd my car, and it runs
wouldnt say desperate, but ive had like 3 hondas i was gona turbo and bought parts for n ---- but problems came up and parts were sold, cars were jacked/crashed/sold
this one i kinda came across parts fast for the right price. just cause everything is so ghetto im not desperate, thats just how i did it cause of the tools n ---- available |
Re: finally hmt'd my car, and it runs
---- yeah, back to the grassroots HMT.
|
Re: finally hmt'd my car, and it runs
well, couldnt fit my ------ ebay intake filter in there on my turbo, so i ghetto'd it out somemore with flex pipe cai beotch

Re: finally hmt'd my car, and it runs
Way to go buddy! Nice way to keep HMT real! :6
|
Re: finally hmt'd my car, and it runs
those aint coat hangers either. thats 14g ground wire from when i was a directv installer. i think coat hangers is safer.

ya i got a diy - go to radio shack, ignore the geeks at the counter cause they usually dont know anything, grab two 2 packs of 10w 10ohm wire-wound in line resistors, chop your old clips off, (go jack some off a obd 1 civic at the junkyard) wire resistors on the yellow/black wires and wire the rest up normal solder and heat shring, half roll of e-tape later
Attachment 35832 heres a diy intercooler mounting takes 2 minutes Attachment 35833 |
Re: finally hmt'd my car, and it runs
I like the liberal use of coat hangers on your ride :6
edit- I see now its 14G wire even better :y |
Re: finally hmt'd my car, and it runs
this should go in the projects section
|
Re: finally hmt'd my car, and it runs
Your rad is about to burst :P
