cut it off n weld or screw n glue a plate to block it, or if u want it to look pretty... get another pan. it needs to be as high as possible with no kinks. if it really "didn't matter" dont you think stock cars would come like that? most factory cars drain to mid-block then drip to the pan with "gravity"

That is pretty low, the oil may be backing up into your turbo...Id take it off plug the hole and make a new higher one. You want it free flowing right above where the oil sits, you should be able to see an oil line in the pan when its off.

if you wanna test the free flowing, pull off ur oil return while the car is sitting on the ground from the pan, if it pours out, its to low ::)

Easiest way to figure out where the oil return should go... take off the pan and put the dipstick in. Look at the level of the dipstick. While running the oil level will be about 1.5l below the full mark. For you Americans that's probably about 2 quarts. The harm is not necessarily the oil backing up but it's aereating your oil. Don't want the oil pump picking up and distributing bubbles.

backing up oil also causes seals to go bad n burning of oil with smoke

cut out a square from the oiol pan with the drain fitting being at the bottom of the square. turn the square upside down weld it back in and the fitting is now higher
