40mpg isn't that great for a 100whp car...

If i had enough money so that I could buy a vette and have like 3 other things to drive yes I would own one...but other than that no thanks. If I want something for strickly performance I would rather build it. Much cheaper and more fun IMO. lets face it you are goign to buy it mainly cause either you want speed or you want a vette. Your not buying it for trunk space thats for sure. So if speed is your quest and you are not mechanically inclined or just plain dont want teh hassel sure its a decent bang for your buck..but.... If you are buying said corvette cause "Its really fast" you more than likely wont know the difference between a 12.0 vette and something that may runs 13's flat for less than half the price.
So I cant really see forking out the cash unless either A) you dont have a good grip on how to obtain speed or B) you just like corvettes or C) your ***** is very small and must be compensated in a "Fast" car.
Many things can go 12 seconds. some are made that way, others not so much but end of the day going 12 in a vette is just normal. 12's in a civic turns more heads.
