Yeah, since a chip, exhaust and big IC pipes getting you low 12 second time slips, out hustling about anything at a road course, and then driving you to work everyday is slow and gay.
Evo 8's are incredible.
But back on topic. You can easily boost the stock turbo to 24-25psi if you have the proper fuel, tuning, and cooling setup. Otherwise you're wasting time.

Re: evo 8 boost.....
those clutches are funny - you do a good 5k launch while slipping the clutch and it will be toast in a matter of 4 times.
I have watched many people though run the stock clutch and still be ok.
my friends evo ran 12.8 with a different intercooler and exhaust with an mbc (holding at stock boost or 19 psi.. the boost bleeds off up top when they are stock)
another friends ran a 12.2 (he sucks at launching) and he has a intercooler, exhaust, mbc, cams and a clutch. running 24 psi. no tuning
expensive way to start out, imo. but they are fun to ride in modified, especially around the turns..

if you like to handle like a boxcar on wheels. they can run a low twelve launching at 7k rpms and blowing that trans into 7k peices at the same time.
or you could buy a cobra and beat it at the drag strip and the road course

Re: evo 8 boost.....
Is the Evo8 the newest one? I know a kid that has one that is stock faster. No wing, No radio, just faster and cheaper actually. 19psi stock I think. He's on like 22psi right now, but I guess alot of those crazy DSM peeps go to like low 30psi.
