every where i look, a stupid newb question

my god, i feel as though hmt has had a large increase in newbs and the stupid, unresearched, questions. lately there hasn't been many post to learn anything on.
i feel like we're beeing overrun, and not enought time to give them all a proper flaming.
just a rant i guess. anyone else think this??

The longer you're here, the more info you absorb (excluding the people that just post ----- and don't read) The less new info you will find to learn. and the more people you will find know less than you, especially at the rate this site is growing. It's a common sense type of thing. It's up to the people that have been here done that to post that new knowledge you speak of this sight lacking.

I is a noob, i saw a movie and have a question, If i run too much boost on my 1.6sohc vtach, will it blow the welds on my intake manifold? I am scared because the last time i boosted, my computer was blinking solid CEL and i told it to shut up, and i was going so fast i almost lost my floorboards.

HondaTuner0487 03-27-2007 11:32 AM

Re: every where i look, a stupid newb question

what did they say?? homemadeturbo.com is tha shizznit? O0

i think its great that people are joining, but ---- there's the FAQ's for 90% of the ---- they ask. i don't consider myself to know all about f/i, by any means. but i built my kit by myself, we my friend helped, but he had never done it before either. i was able to figure 99% of the ---- out by searching or common sense. just seems that latley alot of people don't research, or care to try. normally they get flamed into seclusion, untill they get a good idea of what they're workin with. or they whine like little bitches. although there has been alot of newb on newb flaming, so maybe it will work its way out

HT said it was the best place for informative info on turboing cars that never came that way, and as a mechanic i get tons of people that come to my shop and ask q's about how to fix this and that it part of the automotive world that we the mechanically inclined have to deal with if we are to ever make a name for ourselves

I'll admit it, I'm new to the smaller stuff. I'm here to learn. Want to learn where you pins should be relocated to, what wires to delete on a harness, what wires to run to a relay for ignition, etc to hook up a LSX engine into anything. Ask away. Or ask me what an ideal set-up is for A-body chev muscle cars, and I'll let you know. Why not to use poly in converging 4 links and what to use.... blah blah blah.

I know my ---- about certain cars, not so much these. Hell I just found out that all d16z6's have vtec.

Hows that for being in a magazine. I thought that I would mention HMT but then someone said that I should never do that again for all the noobs we get. I'll make a note of it. Plus post count really doesn't mean alot anymore unless you know who the OG's are and they know their ----. Most of them. I just read most of the time and just soak it up.

How bout if you get your car in a mag...say like turdblod16 or HT d-series.org and send all these ------- noobs back where they belong. I've been saying for awhile...we need a noob moderator. And I'm first in line for the position. Alot of the noob posts I don't even bother with anymore as I don't waste my time with them. Noobs who know their ---- will shine through and the others usually just leave.

being a noob is a mentality not a post count. if these retards who ask the dumb questions had 5000 posts they would still be noobs but that would just mean they have ------ thier retardation 5000 times.

You forgot to include your email address. That way people can send you pics and detailed instructions on exactly what you need to do.

Same here. I'll be going to BRCC in August so I can learn my mechanic ----, the general stuff... That should make this stuff a whole lot easier.
The word "search" is such a good word. People (I'm not going to say n00b because I am one; anways...) wonder why they get their cheerios pissed in when they ask dumb questions that have been answered ~1,000,000 times in ~1,000,000 different threads. You guys are so "harsh!"
::)

Re: every where i look, a stupid newb question

I remember getting flamed just as hard when I was a noob. I don't see what the big deal is...it's more or less a right of passage. Only difference was I had a working knowledge of my car BEFORE I came here. Granted boost was a new thing to me, but whatever I didn't know, I researched. That's what's lacking in alot of these noobs...the drive to find the info on their own by searches instead of posting retarded "what's this problem" or "helpppp!!!" type of posts. That's what bugs me the most...they want everything spoon-fed to them on a silver platter. :P
