Re: Electronic boost controller w/ a data port pics (my project)
Here are some of the features
1. RS232 dataport, for data logging, tuning, and updating
2. Flash Firmware update (the most important) so new features can be added.
3. Overboost protection
4. Very configurable, you can about adjust anything in the controller.
5. Shift prediction, to help mantain boost during a shift
6. High/Low Boost and Gain settings which can be adjust via a **** or locked in by software(recommended after tuning)
7. The boost controller's software engine is a mix of PI and A.I running a PIC16F786A at 20mhz (5MIPS) and uses a GM boost solenoid.
8. The boost limits set by are 2.5 or a 5 bar internal map sensor.
9. This boost controller will work with all stages of tuners from beginners to advanced. Beginners can use the Dials to set the system, the normal users can set thier configuration via software, and advanced user adjust the advance configuration in the software. So everyone can use it to thier ability. A computer is not needed, but recommend.
Here is what I'm looking for with testers. He/She must have a laptop/device to datalog using a serial port. I recommend a built motor that can handle boost and running at least 14psi. I'm looking for people with different turbo cars other than Honda's. I need feedback from other turbo cars. The person needs to have plenty of free time on their hands, because I need the datalogs from the controller even if the controller works great. I still need this information. Email me your configuration including car/turbo/manifold type/wastegate type/exhaust/motor/laptop details and os version to nick AT tullostech DOT com. I will be contacting people in sets. I plan to start shipping to testers in two/three weeks. The cost will be 115+shipping which includes is the controller/solenoid/manual and software.
I'm going to be working with a set 3-4 testers at a time and I will probably use two or three sets before its finished.
The next step is to take the production models and run them in the simulator. Then move it to my car and finally take it to the testers. I've already done this with the prototype, but I need to make sure there at no problems with the production models.
I'm sure I forgot some stuff, so I will update this later. This will also be copied to HT, because I'm not rewritting this.

any Room for NON HONDA PEEPS
my engine can handle 17psi in stock trim and is internaly wastegated at 8psi ( with MBC off set of 5psi) makeing 17Psi. (fuel limits of OEM injectors) ( personaly i don't like mbc, reliability factor, and just don't have the cash to buy EBC)
turbo: T25G
engine: CA18ET
The car: 85 Nissan 200sx turbo
