Mk3 stock intercoolers suck ***. Dont believe everything you read on the internet. Works and works well are two different things.
Not only do they not flow that well, they also dont cool that well either. The cheapest ching chong meow ebay IC is an upgrade from the outdated toyota crap IC's of the 80's.

Pushing knock limit of pump when you should be blending with, or running straight, racegas is why it won't last. I haven't contradicted myself at all.

I agree to what you said but your infering that it won't last long, so what makes you think its anywhere near its thermal efficiency. So i guess the stock b16 crx that i've tuned that's had a turbo for about 5 years and has been beat harder than any car i've ever seen, that includes being ran down the track while the owner didn't realize the car was out of gas, thats now running 25lbs would be considered impressive.
