The basic statement of "You get what you pay for..." is pretty solid.

There are some know bad sellers on eBay. SSAutoChrome" is one of them, and probably the biggest offender in the turbo world. Everything they sell is crap. Get to know the AutoChrome products, becuase different sellers are also selling the AutoChrome products, but don't tell you that up front. There are several variations on the AutoChrome product line, "XSsomething" is a common alternative.

If there is not a well known brand name clearly visible in the auction pictures, stay away from it.

If there is a clearly visible, well-know brand name in the pictures, it might be worth it. Of course simple eBay rules then apply...check feedback (read the feedback, don't just look at the number, see if they have been selling turbos for a while, etc.) , verify shipping, is insurance available, is there a penalty for return, is there a warranty, etc, etc.

If these criteria are met, then you might be getting a good deal, but you are still taking a chance, it is eBay after all.

Except that with know bad sellery, anyone that sells XS Power merchandise, the most notable of which is SSAutochrome, don't pay attention to their feedback. For the most part is positive, because people get their merchandise, it's all shiny and looks great, and they leave positive feedback. Key word here is LOOKS good, then a month later, for the most part, everything breaks up. You already gave them positive feedback and cannot change it, and they won't give you a refund or anything. You just threw away your money.

Whooooooow, this discussion really woke me up!
I allready used two T4 ---- turbo's from ssautochrome and indeed they both started smooking
thick white clouds from my exhaust!

The first time I thought I trew too much oil in the engine. But the second I had everything under control, I thought.
The same ----!

I only tested the car up to 6000rpm cause I sill needed the 3 bar map sensor. So I never had wheelspin in my 2nd speed.

This turbo was supposed to handle 500 plus horsepower at 25 psi. Bla bla bla Bullshit.

Thanks guys!
