Ebay traction bars

What do you guy's think of this traction bar?

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...spagename=WDVW

I just bought a crx and the guy before me hacked the front crossmember to clear his down pipe. I want replace it and this is fairly cheap.

Re:Ebay traction bars

only issue is that you dont know who built it, an i dont know if its been tested by anyone. id hate for it to turb out like sssuckmyass manifolds. See if anyone on here will build you one for 225?

but yellowcrx6! someone on honda-tech said that ssautochrome products were great, just the stuff he puts on ebay is the low quality stuff! ;)

::)

Anywho.. yeah, what he said.. and any pics of the CRX? Congrats on your purchase.

I think CSaddict might have something in the works for ef/crx. Those bars do look ok though and the price isn't too bad either.

Re:Ebay traction bars

No pics yet I assume. You guys would like this CRX tho, plain and clean. I drove it home for him, runs decent, needs a few minor things.

I love this quote...

as strong as chromoly eh? lol.

yeah thats why everyone runs mild steel axles in the off-road environment and not those pesky chromoly junkers.

"These bars are made out of MILD STEEL for durability and strength. Just as strong as the chromoly but at less the cost."

try to find out what thickness of steel the individual parts are, mild is fine, so long as its thick enough. from the small pic id guess 3/16" or 1/4" plates on the sides.

Re:Ebay traction bars

I was just wondering if anyone here knew someone that has used them or heard something about them. I'm not going to be the one that tests them out.

If someone on here would make one for about that price I would much rather give my money to a fellow hmter.

As for pics I'll try to get some tomarrow, actualy there's a pic of it in the forsale section https://www.homemadeturbo.com/forum/...threadid=34730
I'll take more though, it's pretty clean. A few things like the hood isn't painted and there's a scrape on the back bumper but easy fixes.

cool.... nice car, and a review on the traction bar

Re:Ebay traction bars

Looks the same or is the same? How does the car handle, I really want it to feel stock. This is going to be my daily driver no turbo plans or any of that yet. I already have a turbo civic, that was my daily driver and is now going to slowly become less streetable starting with a built motor :)

Re:Ebay traction bars

I'll make you one for 150+ Shipping. That 65 buck less then him. I make a style that you can see in hybrid/tech under any of the traction bar posts. I will make you a different style if you are willing to wait a bit.

CivicZC 01-24-2005 12:21 PM

Re:Ebay traction bars

Could you make one like the jimfab or fullrace. The round stock looks sweet. I like the fullrace one the most though and looks easier to make.

I don't really have money right now, I just bought the crx and it's gonna need a headgasket and a few other things. I'll let you know in like a month when I have some dough.

Re:Ebay traction bars

sure the round looks nice, but actually the square tube design is stronger than the round. basic common sense... applying force to the side of a round tube will take less pressure to bend then a square tube due to the fact that there are 2 sides on the square that don't want to bend in the direction the force is being applied. the round will bend in any direction force is applied.

Re:Ebay traction bars

that auction makes me laugh.

well he requires payment within 7 days, but if you read the auction, he hasn't even made these bars yet, and wont till sometime in feburary. if you had a dispute paypal only covers you for 30 days. this transaction is risky.

Yeah I'm not gonna get the ebay special. I didn't really read the description and now that I have they seem pretty sketchy.

Makes me glad I make my own. ;)

Re:Ebay traction bars

I can make any style. but square tube is stronger. Let me know. A full race style should be not problem. Also would you want a Engine mount. If so? D of B series?

B might be a little difficult for me to do. I havea d series but I hae a friend with a CRX with a B16 in it. We will be making one for him so I will have measurement eventually.

CivicZC 01-25-2005 09:06 PM

Re:Ebay traction bars

I would want a d series mount. The fullrace style in square tubbing would be perfect.

Do the crx and hatch use the same crossmember? I don't know if I want to put it on my turbo hatch or my stock crx. I might put it on hatch and put the hatch one on the crx.

I have some money now to get this thing rolling, pm me any details you need.
