The car is a 1988 Cavalier Z24 with the 2.8L v6 and the 5 speed transmission. Things I could get done myself before the actual install meet would be battery relocation, and some other misc. things. Gotta figure out a good tune as well, so might have to run with the wastegate taped open to stay out of boost until then. Might just run larger injectors with an FPR, so if anyone has a wideband, that'd be handy. I already fab'd a downpipe, just need a turbo and a little bit of piping to connect it. So overall, the remaining parts I need are...

Fuel Pressure Regulator
Charge Piping
Exhaust Piping
Turbo
Oil Lines
and a 2.5" in/out cat for emissions purposes.

That looks like it, if we can get the JRC 8" to fit without hacking the car to hell and back. I already have slightly larger injectors from a Pontiac TGP 3.1 turbo, just don't know if simply running larger injectors will be enough for a safe base to run boost on, which is why the FPR might be necessary. List of stuff I already have is...

Custom Transmission Mount
Custom Crossover Pipe
Front/Rear Coated Manifolds from 1989 Pontiac TGP 3.1Turbo
21# Injectors from same TGP
JRC 8" Intercooler
Misc. Charge Piping pieces
Downpipe section w/ O2 bungs
New oil pan that needs to be tapped for Oil return
and enough gaskets to rebuild the motor a good 5 or 6 times.

Henry

Do the 2.8's respond to boost well? No rush to get all your parts we can definitely reschedule so you can get everything in time. Looks like there are a lot of people around NOVA that can get together pretty often.

Well, the stock 3.1 Turbo (slightly larger version of the GenII 2. in the TGP Pontiac made 185whp through an automatic on a T25 at like 6psi. So I figure if I can dig up a t3 .60/.63 or something along those lines, and run 8-10 psi, 250 shouldn't be terribly hard on the stock motor (forged con rods ftw!). Everyone seems to think the 60 degree v6s are bastard child motors, but for having no aftermarket whatsoever, pretty easy to crank some HP out of the things. With internal work and a Gen I Iron Head/Intake Manifold swap, guy made 310whp on 7psi. So yeah, they respond pretty well to boost. But I have a spare motor that I picked up for $50 with a bunch of spare parts that I am going to build up over the summer. Looking at modified 327 SBC "Pink" rods, Forged Wiseco Pistons, Gen III heads/Intake manifolds (flow a shitload better than the stock GenII stuff), GT3076R, 15-20psi, 400whp easy peasy on a big cam. Or so I hope...

i def wouldnt be able to make it on the 3rd or 10th. the hatch isnt even roadworthy right now, its been sitting in the driveway since the middle of dec half tore apart. i prob wont have it on the road again for another 2 weeks.

and besides the car the wifey is prego, being an over an hour form home isnt good when she is due the beginning of april.

another meet in the summer wouldnt be a bad idea, and i will prob be boosted by then
