You don't have to be for those power levels.

The car is particularly clean and fairly well sorted, though... which takes a lot of time and some money.

Not bad for a total rebuild and fresh setup. Fix a few teething problems and she should be nasty.

the ONLY way i see the tires spinning with that car is if you have bicycle tires or they guys that hooked up the car to the dyno used a jack to lift the car up so the contact patch was small :S

still, its pretty impressive the #'s you guys put down, i just doubt the tire spin store

The car was strapped down right. Most cars that dyno 700whp+ are either RWD, on slicks or doing 4th gear pulls, not street tires. the car was strapped down properly

Again, doing 3rd gear pulls is silly.

670 hp

strapped down right, FWD

http://www.intense-racing.com/video/...ecord_Dyno.wmv (the pull starts at the 1:50'ish mark)

no spinning of the tires

and it runs 9's, so whats your ------- point?

it still didnt smoke the tires on the dyno and it has over double the hp your dads car has

::)

Re: Dynoed my dads car @ 17 psi

my point was, it was a different gear ratio, do that in 1st gear and i bet it spins, your a moron end of story.

Re: Dynoed my dads car @ 17 psi

why the ---- would you dyno in first gear?

wow, and calling me a moron, hahah, whatever man, prove me wrong, show some vids of the wicked powerful honda that smokes the tires on the dyno :8

I know that was my point, he is dynoing in a higher gear that we happend to, I did not feel like loading the motor down any more then it was by doing a 4th gear pull (just like having the motor in a 4000lb car and trying to do 4th gear rippers) Your are talking from your ass and have no real truth to what you are saying.. Or COMPLETLY did not listen to what i said. ::)

Re: Dynoed my dads car @ 17 psi

If the boost would have stayed stable at a lower pressure and not creeping like it was, a 4th gear pull probably would have been made. But with the way it was creeping, Im sure it would have went a few psi higher given the higher load in 4th. It wasnt even my car and I was getting pretty nervous with the whole 10:1 cr, 17psi creep action, and pump gas thing :S
I didnt expect the tires to slip like they did, but it happened. The car was on good rubber and was strapped down/walked in tight.
Bottom line, things happen fast in this car on the street, lol. Was a blast to help out w/ it. Almost as fun as ripping on Bills free beef tires later on >:D.

And your help dave, like always is greatly appreciated. Where is the video of the ripper with the gsxr??!! i'm sure they would all like to see it. even my dad ;-) hahah.

or even the small short clip of the 1 dyno pull.

The firewire on my camera is only putting out sound :-\. Ive tried 2 cables on 3 diff. computers. no luck.
Although, just the audio of your rippers does sound pretty good, haha.

hahah, whatever man.

the dyno run was done in 3rd gear.

and you did your run in 3rd gear correct? and with a whole whopping 279 wtq, im pretty possitive that your dads car did not spin the tires.

the car that i posted the link to, had over 600 wtq.

get a rope for trying to make your dads car sound cool :8

Huh??

465 whp, n00b, it's a Honduh; high rpms turn mediocre torque into mutant horsepower. You were never pro[erly flamed as a n00b, were you? It shows.

PS - his dad's car is pretty cool...

Re: Dynoed my dads car @ 17 psi

hahah, 465hp and 279tq = no wheel spin on a properly hooked up car on the dyno

i dont give a damn who you are or what you say.

dont get pissed that im calling your bluff. as i say again, prove me wrong. because i sure as hell search the internet for video's of any fwd car that produced similar #'s that did the same thing as you, and the only car that ever smoked the tires on the dyno was well over 1000 hp/tq.

so with your measly 279 wtq, again, im calling your bluff.

yes, i was properly flamed, and yet i still stick around to read these halarious stories

and PS, i said that the power the car made was nice and never said it wasnt a cool car, just that i doubt the spinning the tires on the dyno with the power it put down.

now if the car was not strapped down properly i can see it spinning the tires, but if its not strapped down right, well, thats just stupid.

When a car spins on the dyno, would the dyno still produce correct numbers?

exactly, it did not show the true torq, along with the rpm's being off by 1000. this idiot has no idea what he is talking about, the gear ration on the car he posted was WAY different being an auto. I really wish dave would post the video of the car spinning the tires on the dyno.. germ is a complete redneck from indiana where they have no dyno's and only PURE traction..

Any person that knows anything about dynoing cars will know that spinning the tires on the dyno, properly strapped is a breeze with a 450+whp honda in 3rd.

ignorance is bliss

Re: Dynoed my dads car @ 17 psi

post number has very little to do with knowledge...

Tom-Guy 05-04-2006 06:14 PM

Re: Dynoed my dads car @ 17 psi

post number has everything to do with track record, and being able to figure out if you know anything by how you comport yourself over a period of time.

Perfect example, hotrex = douche.

ya thats what i was going to say. honda's transmissions are geared a lot different then other cars and then auto is another story. even if the car you posted was in third its like 4th in a honda. whats wrong with you. just tell us what randomhero said two months ago to piss you off. things happen you dont have to believe it but dont go around acting like your the smartest guy on the board proving your man-ness. why is it so hard to believe that he was getting wheel hop in third gear on a dyno? its not like you dont get wheel hop on the street.
