its RWD....my guess is they took out the front drive axles. Sounds familiar to me. not to hard to put back in 
50g's....over here, a skyline GTR in that condition would probably run you around 300,000yen. on a good day when the USD isnt worth ----...like today, you could probably pick it up in the area of $24-25,000.

Anywho, Sport Compact Car was the mag that ran these cars head to head. The clear plastic engine cover on the RX7 even started to melt! :-D The Skyline had all the electronic gizmos disabled. You know, the ones that make it fast. And yeah, the front axles are gone. The only car from the movie that was even remotely fast was the ghey pink S2000, for the reason that they left it pretty much stock.
