While I think a living wage if you have a family is a bit more than $12K, I entirely see your point. All these ***** in SUVs who OMG HAVE TO HAVE all the latest toys need to diaf.

Re: Don't buy gas
I need to make a confession... my parents pay my phone bill and car insurance. The total is like $1k a year. Now, when they do that, they claim me on their taxes and get a big break, and I can't claim myself, so I'm shorted half of the tax money I've put in or more. So even without my parents' "help" (really I'm helping them out more than they're helping me out in this "crisis") I could manage as a full time student.

Re: Don't buy gas
Gas was at 2.99 here yesterday, can't wait to see if it's changed today.
Couple weeks ago Jim Cramer predicted that the DOW would hit 7500 if this $700 billion plan didn't go through. It went through, and the dow almost went under 8000 today.
I'm hardly concerned about this because quite simply, it doesn't affect me. When ---- hits the fan bad enough and things get ridiculous like $100 for a gallon of milk, that's when you'll hear me start to complain.
Until then, these ******* can stfu because the only difference I've noticed out of this whole "crisis" thus far is lower gas prices - and that's something I would hardly call a crisis.

Re: Don't buy gas
The only thing at this point that can make the prices of stuff go up that drastically is the government. That is, if they start printing completely unbacked money and handing that ---- out. That kind of out of control inflation (generally we inflate 3% a year by design) makes saving basically pointless. IMO savings accounts are pointless. .5% means you actually lose money as your money is in a savings account. Everything inflates 3%, your money only inflates .5%. Where makes up the difference? The evil banks are skimming that 2.5% of of you (your 'break even' percentage) then they make an additional 20% or more on top of that after investment (loaning). Checking is less pointless, because you are losing your 3% and the banks are loaning that money out too, but at least with checking you have extra liquidity. Like you can buy stuff online, go to an atm, write checks, etc. .5% is not worth the loss of liquidity imo. ---- savings accounts. CD's are only a little better, you just barely keep up with natural inflation with a typical CD, at a total loss of liquidity.

---- banks...I keep my money IN HAND. I agree with most every1 else, all this stock market crash doesn't much affect the middle class. All the politicians and money marketers are cryin' about the ----, because that's alllll of THEIR money that is invested in that bullshit. I hope they lose a ton. Gas here is steadily dropping too, but I'm still having a hard time finding premium. I've just been playin' it smart and staying off the road other than going to work. I need to get this clutch I have installed for my car to perform at its max, so I haven't been sweating it anyway. I think I've filled up once over the past 3 or 4 weeks.
