I dont wanna have to go thru that C6... I was also figuring he'd pay Cooks or whomever to build the C6, he's being given a lot of this stuff at bargain basement prices so he can afford to pay a dollar out here and there. |

Re: domestic guys, need input on a shop/manufacturer
well i got an interview :D tomorrow @ 10am. the woman i talked with said if I bust my ass i can advance quickly and this can be a very well paying career. she was quite suprised that i am going to be taking a $20k/yr paycut to start working with them (if i get hired) at least she knows this is something i want to do its not just another job.

Well, yeah, the goal for that engine is 750-800. I don't think I've told Wes yet, but he's being pushed into 1200+ whether he goddamn wants to go there or not. He's gone to pick up a 351C today for $150 - like I said, people love him and give him ----. He's like me only without the crotchety old man antics.
Tweek, congrats, but... why $20K/yr pay cut? You just hate the current job? |

Re: domestic guys, need input on a shop/manufacturer
well i went and spoke with the projects manager and the shop foreman. i thnk i have a good shot at the postion, i doubt a company would waste the $$ on a background check if they werent going to hire you.
the shop is absolutly massive and i only checked out the torque conv section. if i get the job i would spend a day or 2 getting familiar with the equipment (lathe, milling machine, acid wash) and learning how to inspect cores to be rebuilt. i will be dissassembling and inspecting used/core units, working on mostly the street converters(built to spec from junkyard cores) and all out drag ones sent in by race teams that need to be rebuilt. and as an added bonus i get to be the shop bitch ::) after a few months then i would get to start building new units from scratch, they make all thier own cases, pumps and turbines for the converters. on another note,, the hold 8 US patents on converter design and components <<<< pretty impressive if you ask me |

Sounds sweet.
Anytime you start off doing something a little new you get to be the bitch. Suck it up, 'cause talent eventually rises to the top. |
