Re: Do you hit your dog?

Those radio fences work great, as long as you train it right with the little flags around the yard for the first 2 months or whatever, and gradually take flags out untl they are gone. once my dog knew its parameters we never even put that shock collar on him anymore and it never went within 10 feet of the road, and never ran away. even if someone was standing in the road inticing it it would just sit there and stare at them, its a jack russel terrior, it acts like its coke'd up all the time but it will never leave the yard.

Yeah watchout with hitting the dog with your hand. When someone breaks in your house and kills you because your dog was scared shitless when the intruder made agressive movements towards your dog.. You will understand when your lying in the dirt.

No, that's a ----- dog.

The dog lets you hit it because you are pack leader aka alpha male. I have a friend who has hit his dog two times I can think of, and he's the only one who can raise a hand to the dog without it trying to take out your throat. I dunno about you but I've hit a wild dog (German Shepherd) that was jumping on my daughter like it was a man, right up side the head, and it didn't yelp or even act fazed. I hurt my hand, and the stupid thing kept jumping in gleeful excitement. Dogs don't feel pain like we do, and if your dog is afraid of being emotionally repremanded by a stranger you obviously suck as an owner. ::)

it's funny to see those 2 words side by side, since they are the most imbred dog ever.

I have seen it happen. Not everyone is a good dog trainer. Some people will take it a little too far and the dog will quiver with fear.
