If it does something bad, how else are you supposed to teach it? they cant understand english so pain and anger is the only form of language i can get across to the stupid thing. stupid ------ dog

cause if ur dog took a ---- and then u hit it.. it cant comprehend that it got hit because it took a ---- in the house.. so ur just hurting it for no reason...

and if it does comprehend anything ittl think its ok to still do it.. just not arround you...

I hit my dog. No hard, he is puppy and brings stuff in the yard, gets in the trash stuff like that. He knows he is doing wrong, and keeps on doing it, so I pop him.

sometimes they need to be hit, but for the most part they can learn without it.

ive never hit my current dog, but she is the biggest ----- ever. ------- scared of everything, acts like she's been abused her whole life. stupid bitch...

though they really mean the same thing I pop my dog more than hit it. Hitting sounds like abuse.lol

I put his nose near the pee or poop and pop him on the butt and say no.

But I also take a treat outside and when he pees or poops I pet him and give him the treat.

mines the same way, open the ironing board it flinches, put a new trash bag in the trash can he flinches. don't know why he's like that i think maybe the old owners used to hit him.

maybe a light smack on the ass or nose if theres something he/she did wrong, but nothing too intense, definitely not considering it "hitting".

rubing the nose in pee is a great way. but for training like stay and sit positive reinforcment with repition is the only way to get the dog to do it and not be a -----, or a violent kiddy killer

I never hit the dog.

Only yell at the dog if you catch them in the act of doing something wrong. If it is 10 mins later the dog can't comprehend that you are refering to the past. It just thinks you are a dick for no reason.

When yelling at the dog do not use its name. It associates its name with posotive things, so you will just be confusing.

Try to encourage good behavior with treats, petting ect whenever possible.

Possitive reinforcement is the best, but remember that dogs can think as methodically as we can. If they have done something bad and immediately do something right, and you give them a treat, they can sometimes think that doing the bad deed got them rewarded.

I just hold the muzzle and smack them on the nose when they're bad, it's virtually painless, but they get the idea.

Positive reinforcment > than negative for pets. The exception being when they taper a big fatty brown boneless in the house, then rubbing their face in it works best. I have no doubt that they are able to make the poop in the house--> ---- face wipe = bad, association.

Rubbing there face(not literally) in their piss or ---- is THE WORST thing you can do. You have to catch them in the act of doing it. Put bells beside your door and take it's paw and hit the bells when ever you take it outside. REWARD it when it's outside and takes a ----/piss and say "(insert name here) GOOD BOY/GIRL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" and lots of petting under his/her chin. You shoudln't pet a dog on top of it's head. When my dog wants out he ring the bells to go out.

And i forgot NEVER!!!!!! hit a dog with your hand. If you are going to give him a "tap" use a rolled up news paper and hit him on the ass NEVER the nose.

I did pretty much everything u guys mentioned above, to teach my dog to ----/piss in a plastice pan like a cat LOL
and again, it is most effective RIGHT at the moment after the dog done whatever he`s not suppse to do (----, piss, bitting, barking and whatnot)

I usually bit the ---- out of my two dogs when they get out of line. I tried talking but it didnt work. This one time, one of them ate one of my rarest chicken (puerto rican) so i took its bowl and hit it across the head a couple times. I felt bad afterwards but it deserved. I was gonna fight the chicken to make some spare cash.

I guess the tissues in dog's noses are very sensitive and can be damaged easily, so your not supposed to "pop" it in the nose.

get a shock colar. one that has the warning beep ---- to. ---- the try a lower shock full shock the firstime you see him doing something bad and tell him no. has to beep with the shock. than the next time he starts to do something just beep it and the dog is like oh ----. my lab was a bitch to train. never finished with him one day the power went out and he ran the radio fence. car wacked him good :'(

best way to get a dog potty trained is crate train it. it wont go pee or poop in its cage and when it does its ---- outside reward it. my dog was potty trained at 5 months old and hasnt done it in along time. but my dog always ------- bites me and sometimes i want to hit him. but im still working with him hes a inbred mut.

I have a 7 month old pup and I have him crate trained. I got him at 2 month old. He went potty in the house like 4 times total. What seemed to work for me was just to constantly keep a eye on him for the first while and catch him in the act of doing the bad behavior picked him and and sat him out side till he went potty then rewared. I was shocked as ---- how well it worked honestly. For the first while the best thing to do is, while he is not crated to just keep a constant eye on him and while doing bad disaplin without abuse and he will learn fast. What kinda dog are you working with scott?

i have two little white house dogs and a 4 mounth old pit bull. I never hit them hitting them just makes them scared of you.when my dogs were 2 mounths old is when i start to pottytrain. when theyed go to use the bath room in the house i would stop them telling them no and take them out side. when they go uot side give a treat after one week my dogs got the hang of it

you could train them with a clicker. They'll be conditioned to respond to the "click" which is faster than saying "No don't do that" for example.

crate training is the best method to potty train a dog at any age, but most dogs cannot control their bowels until they are around 10 weeks old or so, thats why you should not spank a puppy for going in the house, they can't hold it, er they don't know they can rather.

if you take your dog to an obediance school they will tell you that they are not there to train your dog, they are there to train you.

well, the whole reason i made this thread is cause my dog took my white hat outside and put it in the mud, didnt even tear it up, just dropped it in the mud. so i hit her with it quite a few times. shes probably about a year and a half old.

I've got a 90lb purebreed pitbull I can full on slam him into a wall and he thinks its time to play. I think he likes the pain. >:D
