yea, anyone can ------- build an engine. it really doesnt take much knowledge to bolt ---- together(doesnt mean its gona be reliable tho) but i just hate it when they dont know how to tune. anyways, I roll alone. and my next car is gona be a nissan.

I was never really into the whole "scene". I just like working on Hondas because they are cheap and super easy to work on compared to most other vehicles. I also think it's a good thing that lots of people are into them, because the parts selection is huge and the product support is unlike any other.
I do get sick of driving a Honda though. I'm almost 100% sure my next car will not be a Honda, I'd like to learn something else. I think if I'm going to buy another Honda it will be a hard topped S2000.

I actually don't like hondas, I like projects.....I grew up a muscle car kid, and I fell into projects of all kinds....So far I've built a 95 eclipse show car/stereo car, 76 monte carlo low rider, 89 maxima stereo car, the woman's 89 crx, and now I'm building my drag civic...the only one of that group i still have is the civic (the woman still has the crx)...once I finish the go fast civic I'll probably get bored and sell it for 1/10th of what I have in it....I'm already thinking of my next project (starting in 1-1.5 yrs).....mini truck...I've always hated the scene, the only time you will see me hanging out with the tunar bois is when I'm really bored and could go for a good laugh.

I've never actually owned a honda, always thought that I would pick up an EK hatch at some point and time.
But five years ago when I got the Neon, these were my deterring factors:
1. Every single person I knew had one, and I like to be different.
2. The neon has more displacement thus more torque factory.
3. the neon engine has a solid deck design versus open deck.
4. Could get a decent shape neon for a better price than a decent shape Honda.
Here we are five years later and I'm still tinkering away with the Neon. I do want to get out of the low budget scene a bit. I love playing with my car, but the road noise and crappy build quality gets on my nerves after awhile. My WRX feels 100x more solid with less road noise and infinitely more comfortable. Plus it's reasonable quick right now, and upgradeable.
My next car will definitely be higher end than a base model Honda, or Neon. I also definitely want to get away from FWD.
