Do you ever get sick of the honda thing?

Do you ever get sick of the honda thing?
Just curious, as a non-honda owner driver, do you ever get sick of them? I respect greatly what they can be made to do - lots of power, little weight, good gas mileage, and not too expensive - but do you ever feel like moving on to something a little different?
I ask because sometimes I go to the races, and see a few mustangs, a few camaros, a few 350z's, a few supras, a few other oddballs (like my pickup truck), and then I see a sea of civics. I see them i droves, like ants when you step on an anthill.
Do you honda guys ever roll into a hangout and think "damn, this scene is getting old...?"
Not looking to pick a fight, just honestly curious.

Re: Do you ever get sick of the honda thing?
Ive seen a lotta people move on, or "grow up" to reliable cars and such. Trying to talk my friend into swapping a motor into her del sol but she always comes back to the conclusion " well that $2500 don on a new camry..." Well ---- you ****
Ive personally only owned 2 crx's, a 90 hatch and drove a beater ford ranger for a winter, but even that truck i drove open header with the flat black paint job
I cant see me ever leaving the OLD honda cars, let alone leaving Honda. Its all I know, Its all Im good at

84 RX-7 Gsl-Se
89 accord Lx-i
1990 Eagle talon Tsi boosted at 22psi on stock motor and fuel system (lasted over 5 months before i sold it still running)
1971 datsun 510 4dr, turbo L-16 boosting 12psi with 12.5:1 compression, could NOT kill that mother ******
1990 RX-7 convertable with mild street port
1974 datsun 260Z with SBC 350 swap, hauled *** and broke alot of drivetrain parts
1994 integra with GSR swap
1986 MR2 with 5S-FE swap (dont remember year)
1966 ford pickup, had horrible rod knock but wouldnt ------ die
1972 datsun 620 pickup, blew a ------ spark plug out of the god damn head doin a cookie
1993 EG hatch with H22 swap, blew the motor after haveing it for a day, swapped in a new one and sold it 6 months later, got me 47.3 MPG

so far, the most reliable of all the cars have been the honda's, and the datsuns... i favor the datsuns more and wish i'd never sold my turbo 510
all and all, i like hondas, i'll probably always have at least one, and i dont think i'll get tired of them

Re: Do you ever get sick of the honda thing?
This is the reason you have more than one car. My daily car is the Hatch and I will probably die in it. Bought it new with 3 miles on it and now have over 300k on the chassis. The bank I got the loan from lost the title years ago so I can't really ever sell it. Too much trouble. My project car is a 70 Nova that has been in the works for 3 years now. You wanna talk about a money pit? That is why I love my Honda so much. Cheap, reliable, quick and fun to drive. (note I never said fast lol)
I hear what you are saying about the flocks of civics etc. My car is the oddball because I hardly ever take it to the track on a test n tune night. Nope, I go on Saturday brackets where the big boys play. Yeah, my hatch is lost in a sea of 67-69 Camaros and S-10 pickups and old school early 60's Novas.
Here's an old vid of me breaking out 4th round That was the season points leader and winner btw. Sorry about the ---- vid quality but you get the idea.

Actually their aren't a lot of honda's around here. I go to th track and it's mostly dsm's and nissans in the import crowd.
Well I spent from 8 this morning until about six this afternoon working on a turbo awd talon that had been severely ****** over by about three differant owners all of them ricers. The wiring harness was hacked up everywhere from a super afc install and removal in the past. for some reason the injector clips were cut in half so they just sat on the injectors with no snap because the snap ring part of the plug was just hacked off of all 4 injectors.
If it were mine I would get a new harness and redo the whole car but the owner is already owes us my brother inlaw 600 in labor and parts and can't afford one so I did my best. It ran but not great. Dsm's are a pain in the ***.
It's not a fair comparison because I learned on hondas but If I had that much time and a honda in the same condition it would have been running perfect today and ready for the kid to come and get his car.
It's funny how a car thats factory non turbo is more reliable and easier to work with and sort out then a car that came with a factory turbo.
No I'm not tired of hondas
