Re:digital cameras???
Megapixels matter but only to a certain degree. It also has to be a quality camera in terms of the lens, shutter speed, etc.
The megapixels on that camera is more than sufficient to blow up posters. If you are just looking for a decent camera to take pics for the web or taking 4x6 pictures, a 2.1MP camera is more than enough. 2.1MP camera is good enough to make 5x7 pictures.
If you are looking to buy one, I am trying to sell my girlfriends Polaroid digital camera. It was bundled with her course. It is a 2.1MP. Let me know if you are interested. Below is a picture of it. I was going to put it on eBay.com but since you are asking about it, I figured I'd pitch it out there...

Re:digital cameras???
I can vouch for the Nikon Coolpix cameras. I have a Nikon Coolpix 3100, it's a 3.0 or 3.1 megapixel I believe. Very very nice shots, even very close up ones. Be careful of that camera you saw on Ebay; i'm not a camera guru but I have never heard of that brand. And it talks about 5 megapixel "interpolated", it's actual megapixel count is only 3.3.

Re:digital cameras???
I agree with will. Look at the pic it says 3.3MP on the actual camera. I've heard good stuff about Nikon, and have personally used Canon and Sony. I love the Canon Elphs and some of the new Sony ones.
Let me know if you are interested in the Polaroid. I havent used it and have only taken it out of the box. If you are interested in and want some sample shots from it I can take some pics with it and upload so you can see what the pics look like. I dont mind. Only reason I am selling is the fact that I already have a Sony Digicam.

You want a high optical zoom because all digital zoom does is makes the pic distorted, "blurry" and "boxy".

Re:digital cameras???
I've owned digital cameras for around 8 years, and I'm really really happy with my latest, Canon A80. 4 megapixel, this thing is idiotproof (good job), 9 out of 10 of my point and shoot pictures turn out fantastic.
The cool feature is the swivel view finder, you can tuck the camera down into the corner of the engine compartment, tilt the screen up and see exactly what you are going to take a picture of, takes wicked macro shots in the engine bay.
It can do 1 megapixel bursts at somewhere around 7/frames second, great for action shots at the track, and it can do TV resolution movies, at 15 frames per second with sound.
I can't believe how much I like the swivel viewer, it wasn't a selling point when I bought it, but now I've had it I couldn't be without it.

I gotta vouch for the cool pix to! I have a coolpix 2100 and I love it! We paid 200 for ours at thanksgiving time, now you can buy the coolpix 2100 for 150 on the net. If you want an awsome camera for web use and small pictures no larger than a 5X7 it is great! I have had 2 pblms with it. from what Ive been told, you have this problem with all cameras. 1) batteries. --solution, rechargeables. 2) flash card---solution, buy a bigger flash card. I think ours is a 256mb? Its really huge, it will store like 540 pic's at 2mp at high resolution.
my advice, spend the extra 50bucks and get something nice. You pay for what you get.....wait and save that extra money and get something a little nicer....
