they didnt say the computer would be smarter, just have more power, dont ask me how they figured that out though.
Its not that hard to believe though, you can go buy a PS3 now that has more power than a supercomputer from the year 2000 with 9000 processors in it , probably costing millions and millions of dollars.

amount of neuron connections determines comp power of brain.
neuron connection vs silicon
silicon keeps shrinking but we also keep getting smarter since we know more then yesterday every day. also unused "connections" in the brain get rooted out and eliminated. the more you study in different fields the more you will know
