Default Detonation Problem With My Bird!

Most of the people that I ask say I'm full of crap but who cares.

Anyway I made a dyno run yesterday and had some extreme detonation problems @ really high boost.
The knock sensor is unplugged and I'm running race gas/
Base Fuel pressure is 39psi and WOT is like 53. At 33psi of boost it starts to detonate pretty bad then the car starts to bog. I'm shooting for 450hp but it always falls a little short of the mark.

Even with the knock sensor unplugged could it pull timing?
Air/fuel gauge is reading 4bars into Rich.
Do I need less timing?

This is my most modified Bird and haven't gone too in depth into tuning for this kinda power.

Any help would be great.

DUDE... YOU'RE FULL OF ----. If you where at a dyno i'm sure there are pros there who could tell you exactly what the ---- is going on. Plus you're ---- had to of been hooked up to a computer. THINK BEFORE YOU LIE.

ah that's wrong teg guy
@ this dyno u pay like $55 for hp pulls 2 of em.
u pay an additional amount to have the tech tune with u.
That price is nearly doubled per hour.
Yes it is hooked to the computer to a point. the full wideband exhaust breather also costs money... that i don't have.. I'm trying to save some money and try myself.
I may have to dish out some extra green to get this really dialed in!

So how am I full of ----
There's no reason to talk ---- I'm just asking for tech help.

I think from what my friends have said I've maxed the capabilities of the EEC tuner out. I honestly didn't know that was possible.

Other guy...On a Calmer note! "Bird" Refers to My Ford Thunderbird Turbo Coupe. It's got a 2.3Liter 4banger
Turbo Engine. They were made from 83-88! I got the last and best year!!! These things even have a switch on the dash to advance or retard the timing how cool... Except that might be the cause of my problem.. Mostly I think that switch is so u can run the cheap gas vs. expensive.
I.e. switch in regular=only 9psi stock and less timing like 9degress. Switch in premium =15-17psi and about 13degress timing. Why would u run cheap gas in a turbo car? They're pretty stout little motors. 8to1 compression low technology 1overhead cam only 8 valves NO PUSHROD's,, thank god! And it still has a distributor. & still gets 30mpg ont the highway :P with my foot out of it!!!

I'm not trying to be the fastest by any means just quick on a budget.

So any words of advice are welcome. This thing doesn't like to be tuned. High boost advancement on the timing curve creates the detonation but I'm wondering if an MSD boost/timing retard module would work. That along obviously with the distributor/coil ignition etc....

Maybe back it off a ton under boost to safe but not so much the engine can still make the power potential it has.

oh god i remember thoes. thoes are heavy as hell, only ford can take a numble small car and make it a boat.. anyway you might want to try water injection to help with the pinging and def. get a bigger IC over the stock one. you have GOT to figure out your fuel management and your dizzy, the more retarted the safer you will boost the higher the more you will ping.

I got a spearco 2core front mount kit specifically for my car.
I'm trying to maybe go to an igloo setup on the cooler if not to overkill.
I'm gonna go buy the timing boost retard from MSD soon.
Hopefully that'll clear some of it up.
