i think you were still detonating (maybe a slight ping), that takes a toll on d series rods... that and the ringlands. On a better tune it might have lasted

Whoa, that bendage is pretty extreme... you sure that isn't from hydrolocking? Does the bent rod show markings along the bend of having something stuck between it and the crank, that it would bend like that?

I've seen rods get metal fatigue from long term detonation, and break across the beam, but that's :-X :X :-X

It defintely isnt from hydrolocking. Weather was very dry and it just happened when I did a ripper in 4th gear on the highway. The bent rod spun on the crank very nicely, I didnt even know that it was bent until I took it out. I thought the only broken piece was the broken rod.

Now I'm going to assume that around the time that it happened, there was a little bit of detonation because of the crack in the each of the pistons' ring landings. I say this just because the boost retard stopped at 11psi with the stock map sensor. Other than the fact that the map sensor was stock, I'd say the tune was VERY good. I dont remember what A/F we had, but it was nice and rich. Also he made it so that at the last column it was stupid rich in case it ever did spike to 15psi. I dont remember the boost retard, but I remember knowing that it was conservative.

You can see there that the rod just became extremely heated and bent.

What were you using to tune?

I've never gotten Crome to boost cut on a stock MAP past 10.2-10.3 psi, the sensor doesn't read that high according to the software (IRL, OBD1+ MAP reads to 10.65 psi, so the software/system resistance/variance in the 5vref from the ECU/etc causes the ECU/software to read a little low on ALL Honduhs).

That last 11.2 psi column you jacked the fuel on? It didn't do ----, ------.
