Buk - those cars may have potential, but the main problem you run into when working on old cars like that isn't finding performance parts, it's fixing all the crap that breaks when you try to work on it. By this time all the plastics are brittle, as are any vacuum hoses, and the wiring could be sketchy as well. Usually with cars of that age, anytime you touch anything under the hood, stuff breaks. And you can't exactly go down to autozone asking them for a specific connector. also that sort of thing usually isn't noticed, untill you try to start your car later, and it's running like ass and you don't know why. Four days later you find out that when you bumped that vacuum hose with your elbow, it crumbled and made your car run funny. Save your money for something newer. |

I understand what you mean about being able to replace the vacuum hose easily, but I was talking about toyota specific connectors and such. I went through this scenario with my first car, and I had a hard time enjoying it because I no matter how many things you repaired on it, there was always something else wrong. it's the weakest link in the chain type thing.
