On the otherhand, it's nice seeing other Toyota owners wanting to boost..

toyota just has more factory options for swapping engines into chassis' without any real modification to the rest of the truck (ie 1uz into a hilux = room to spare, just mounts and harness that will be changed) whereas dropping in a sbc or a sbf will present the need to modify the firewall.

and who said i was sticking with the 22r? this is the secret of it all :8

a 5.7 chevy will bolt into an s10 with aftermarket engine mounts. No modification is needed to a 85+ s10. They changed the firewall after 85 because they started putting in the 4.3. I've looked into doing this before I got my honda.

i really dont give a ---- about domestic engineering, you can find a toyota with 200k or 300k or even more fairly easily and even if the body falls off it still runs like low mileage. alloys < toyota, much like honda.

Haha, that's cute. They changed the firewall. I didn't see any difference in getting the top two bellhousing bolts out of both 84 and 88 S10 with the 2.8 V6, which exactly as stupid as the top two bellhousing bolts on any of the 4.3 V6 trucks.

Most of the V8 swaps into S10's need modifications to clear the steering column, and there is less clearance for 350 than 305.

I'm pretty sure Downy makes a bolt-in kit to put a SBC into a Toyota with -0- modifications. The only problem you would have is with the tranny hitting the firewall. You can fix this with either a 3" body lift or just by using a manual tranny, which I would want anyways.

i know they do. but it takes away from the fun of inter-company engine swapping

All apologies. I wasn't inferring you needed to do a sbc swap into your Toyota. That would be pure blasphemy IMO. However if you did a 1uz swap or a jz swap, that would be a site to see. Either way, happy modding.

Toss a SR20DET into any Nissan hardbody pick with a KA in it. Last time I checked the KA's blocks for the 240sx's and the hardbody's were the same. I probably wrong though. I like Toyota pickups but damn I swear those things were mad of sugar cause as soon as water hits them they just crumble apart. I loved that one that Marty McFly got in the first Back to the Future. Now that was sexy. 8)
