Re: DAMN CRX CAMBER PROBLEMS!!!

Don't buy the cheap ass egay kit, I've been there and done that and they ------- suck.

I don't know if anybody else on here has bought one but the way they press onto your upper control arms is nothing like factory, and doesn't work. Period.

See the little bronze thing? It's supposed to squeeze together and that's what the upper control arm is supposed to squeeze over. Even after modifying one with a dremel, it still didn't fit right. Even if/when you do get it to fit right, they won't stay adjusted right - mine didn't. I also had a lot of trouble with them placing the upper control arm way too far out and it hit the frame really bad.

Those are what you should buy, one or the other. I suggest the top one.

However, your tire wear comes from improperly set toe. Your money would be better spent on taking it to a backyard mechanic or a shop that will align lowered cars and telling them to adjust the toe only.

oh ----.. thats the first time i've seen adjustable upper control arms specifically for the CRX... atleast for a decent price. All the ones ive seen in the past were for the eg or were mad JDM and $$$$.

Gonna buy those as soon as i get the cash.

I wore my crx tires right out this season, almost to the belt on the inside actually but the outside still has an easy 50+%

Never got an alignment when I lowerred it or anything

Im gonna fab some traction bars this year. Would a camber kit work anything for me?

Re: DAMN CRX CAMBER PROBLEMS!!!

who ever said his camber is fine with a 2-2.25" drop is ------- retarded.

on most (if not all hondas) a 1.25-1.75" drop is about the most you can do and stay within factory specs for camber. even then being as you are on the edge of what is considered normal you will wear tires faster. this guy is nearly twice that and you are blaming his problems on toe??

with my EF dropped 1.5" and still within spec i ran thru a set of yoko avs's in 8-9 months. even with my rears toed out a bit(for a reason) i couldnt see any thing related to the toe it was all camber, no feathering or spotted wear patterns

Re: DAMN CRX CAMBER PROBLEMS!!!

if your camber is a a bit from the drop and your toes is good and u dont run 40psi in your tires you can get 2 seasons out of a decent set of tires no problem. The camber makes the friction on the edge of the tire a lot worse and thats what make your edge wear that fast

Re: DAMN CRX CAMBER PROBLEMS!!!

im not saying his camber is good, what Im saying with that drop the camber is the reason the tires are wearing "that" fast. the reason the tires are wearing in 3 mounth is because the TOE. If the toe was good his tires would wear but it would be very slow.

changing the toe will greatly slow the the edge wear

Sounds like Im definetely bringing the Crx to you in a few months TJ

Gonna make my own set of traction bars to, can you still make the adjustments if those are installed?

Probably gonna need a camber kit of some kind to Id imagine with my drop

If the alignement shop is scared of adjusting a camber kit then you should get far away from them as quick as possible.Spend a few bucks for a front adjustable kit I used a Ingalls one with good results and the rear can be done with washers.
