IMPORT FACE OFF ~ D-SERIES QUICK 8/16 ~ August 26, 2007

Import Face Off is holding an import/sport compact event at National Trail Raceway, Sunday August 26th 2007. At our request (Ohiohonda members), they have agreed to hold a D-series shootout in addition to their normal race programs. The shootout is open to any Honda with a D-series engine, provided it complies with entry rules.

Entry Rules:
Heads up, pro tree, 3 qualifying rounds
FWD 4 cylinder D-series Hondas only
OEM frame, no tube chassis, no one piece front ends, no wheelie bars
DOT tires only, slicks prohibited
Open exhaust allowed

Pricing:
$20 for test and tune racer
$30 for competition racer
$15 for spectators ($13 with flier coupon).

This is an Import only event and racers get tons of passes. Even after eliminated, you can still run test and tune.

Payouts:
This class will have a "Jackpot" prize instead of just a trophy. Entry fee is still $30/class, but 100% of the entry fees for the D-Series class will go to payouts for 1st and 2nd place. 1st will receive 2/3 of the jackpot, 2nd will receive 1/3 of the jackpot. Another words, if 10 cars ($300 worth) enter the D-Series class, $200 will be awarded to first, $100 to second.

COMPETITION DRAG CLASSES AND PAYOUTS
FWD Quick 8 $1000 (FWD 4 cyl only, slicks and open exhaust OK)
Street Class Quick 8 $800 (4/6 cyl, or rotary only, DOT tires and muffler required)
All Motor Quick 4 $400 (4/6 cyl or rotary, n/a engines only, slicks & open exhaust OK)
Bracket 14.99 and Faster $200 (any import or sport compact)
Bracket 15.00 and Slower $200 (any import or sport compact)
Motorcycle Bracket $100 (any motorcycle of import origin)
*full fields required for full payout. Full = 8 cars for Quick 8 classes, 4 cars for Quick 4 classes.

I'm sorry... what was the payout at the other D-Series Shootouts? Nothing.

Why? Because there wasn't one.

When we started talking about this, it was going to be a class just for fun. I'm sick of being stuck in bracket because my car only runs 13.5... so we thought we'd try and do something specifically for the D's. There was talk of a payout, but we're racing for trophies this year. If there's enough interest, maybe they'll do it again next year and offer up some cash. They can't do payouts if no one shows, AND THEY'RE NOT CHARGING ANYTHING EXTRA TO RUN IN THIS CLASS. You can still run bracket or in one of the other heads-up classes, and still run in the D-Series class.

LOL... I have a real car. Every bolt was turned by my own hands. All tuning was done on my own. For the amount of time, effort and money I have available to invest in my car, it's a pretty respectable machine.

Do you mind if I ask why you guys are giving this such a hard time?

I really thought you guys would have dug this kind of event because it's all about low-budget HMT builds... not high dollar shop-built race cars.

I just thought it would be cool to see a bunch of D Series cars run heads up. It sucks that there's no payout, but it'll still be fun. Take it as you will. :6

By the way, I know this site way too well to get upset by criticism and negativity, so save your breath if you want to continue with it. ::)

And if you've ever raced heads up in any organized class, you'd know that there are rules for just about any race you can enter. Have a look at NDRA rules some day.

Of course... you probably think that the NDRA and their rules are gay, so you won't. ::)

you would have read that the class is OPEN TO ANY D SERIES... It does not once mention limiting it to SOHC.

so dont bring the low 11 second crx?? (dohc zc vitaras eagles and a 60/63 60 trim), ok check, i cant wait to not go and then see who won! prolly a 13 second car... when i had a b series i went up against h's and k's and all other ---- engine specific drags are gay as ---- bottom line, that why no one will show up :y and no jesus didnt teach me how to construct sentence's.

Honestly, I expect to have 1/2 the field running tranny's I've worked on.

Might be giving away a free OBX install ($150 value) if your not running one of mine, or if your are a free reinspection.
