Jon's the closest to what I'm talking about. He said that this EK hatchie had a SOHC Prelude engine. I was like "WTF?!?! Why would anyone do that with all the other great choices of SOHC?" Then he said it was D-series. I was like "HAHA!! They pawned you. Never made a D in a prelude" So we ALL can agree that never was there a D prelude engine, right?

Anyway, this kid says it's the same as in his brother's 88 prelude. So is it an A20 then? He said it had like 130hp stock so that's why they chose it. Anyone know on the validy of any of this crap?

Yea it's an A20, no d series ever in a prelude. 120 hp stock.

i dunno where the original motor went, but he needed a daily car, and he had that shell and a D laying around so he made a daily driver.

he has other toys for doing fun stuff.

Nothing wrong with a SOHC Prelude/Accord motor..............in a CRX it runs 9.81 @ 139 when built right..........imagine a turbo on that CRX, it would slow down due to traction issues!

Re: D-Series Prelude...

late 80s preludes had b-series engines, at least the sohc ones did. but it had no realation to the b16, b18, ect.. is was an odd engine. andi have never head of a d-series ina any prelude, it would be the biggest pain in the ass to do, and pointless.

88-89 had the b20a1 I believe, they where dohc, and the 90-91 had the b21a which was also dohc...

the 84-87 had the a20a*, which was sohc 12valves... fun cars to drive, and looks sweet... still looking for one, hopefully i can find the 2 or 3 gen one for cheap :'( >:D

EDIT: my bad, the 87 si prelude came with the a20a1 motor... before then, previous generations of the prelude was cvcc
