go d series, i don't have either, but i wish i did so i could go d series. easier to find them, easy to build them. go with the underdog

my built d series, as bbka said, is capable of more hp than is practical on the street. so hey sounds like fun to me.

Amen to that!!
Personally I would rather have a B-series cause you can push alot more power out of them than you can a D, in the long run anyways.
One thing I really like better about the D is that you can pretty much come close to matching the hp and torque. The torque for most of the B's is pathetic IMHO. If you got 200hp out of a D your torque would be close to 180-200. With a 200hp B your torque would be close to 140-155 ::)
Personally I think a good motor to run for a turbo setup would be a CR-V motor B-20, better torque and more displacement to work with.

there so many good points here but im going to have to go with the d. Its cheaper and I think the parts are cheaper to come by as well. Maybe not a huge diffrence but i do know some parts has a less price. I know na speaking the b you could do more power easily than a d but the bitch cost more. And if you do blow a motor i know for a fact the d is alot cheaper than a b. Also to me the b is overated in my opinion. :-\

thats not true man, lmao...

more displacement = less torque i forgot :/

you could prob make more torque from a non vtec d series than a vtec b series, turbocharged wtht he same horsepower... but not the non vtec b series. when yo do that you're trading horsepower (revs) for torque.

This is coming from personal experiance here. I took my car out racing the other night. My very first race I missed shifting into 4th gear and grinded the ---- out of the tranny and it now makes whinning noises at me. I got offered a Z6 tranny for $40 and I also got offered a Y8 tranny for free. Let's see you find a b-series tranny for that much. 8)

If I end up building my d-series I will be going for at least 400 at the wheels... maybe 500...
