Default Cuba, Fidel Castro and The USA

So what if he dies?

The US says they have a plan in place, but have not said what the plan is.

Cuba says he is fine, but he is 80 yrs old.

The brother is even worst than him.

People are brainwashed and some don't know any better and are used to that system. Some are forced to show they care, but really want him dead.

There's oil off shore of Cuba between Cuba and Florida. There's also a hell of a lot of companies that would love to exploit the local market with stores and restaurants. There's also tourism and a lot of money to be made.

So the questions are:

Should the USA go in there take over and "liberate" the cubans as they did in Iraq?
This could go wrong and be another Iraq, a big mess and might make us look even worst in the world.

Should we stay out do nothing let them deal with it?
This could go wrong because again some will say why did they go to Iraq(oil) that's all the way in the other side of the world and not into Cuba that's only 80 miles from Florida. it could also make us look bad in front of the world.

So what to do......This is for those who think a little more outside the box, and are tired of the hotrex scamming, turbo setup question, noobs, and how much is my car worth threads...... :1

Fidel did a great job for the people of Cuba considering the limited resources he has had to work with.It will gradually switch over to democracy and i dont think smashing the country into a million pieces like Iraq and destroying the standard of living would be the best course of action.I have lots of friends and family that go there for vactions as it is a really nice country full of people that work hard and have done amazingly well considering the embargos etc they have lived under for the past 50 odd years.I'm sure it will get raped and pillaged with Walmarts on every corner soon enough so I guess i should go for a visit before its to late.I should find some of the photos from my parents last trip there showing the cool stuff they make like HMT style busses and all kinds of DIY machining of parts.

That is true, Fidel went in with the right intentions, for those that do not know, there was an even worst dictator before him that he fought against to free his people. But it all went bad when the Communist bug hit him.

It's a cool country, imagine how hard it is to live like that. What I would hate is for a lot of those big companies would go in there and ruin it.

Some are saying that a lot of Cubans in the US would like to go back. I can see the older people wanting to go back and dying in their country. Now all the Cuban-Americans born and or raised here, some of those that don't even speak spanish....naahh...those would stay here. Still there's a lot of millionaire Cubans in Miami that could help the economy of the country(Cuba).

ok, I will keep calm, because you folks dont really know about the subject, but Fidel is evil, has done NOTHING positive for the island, and killed many, MANY people (including family members of mine). The only people for whom Cuba is good are naive tourists and communist higher-ups. Batista wasnt great, but the island was an increidble place back then, and now is ----.

Yes he is evil, but what his at least public intentions where in the beginning where correct. Getting rid of Batista, but either power got to him, or his intentions from the beginning where to take over lying to people.

Either way he was seen as a savior in the beginning.

are you a moron.."good job".. fidel did nothing of the sort.. Lets see what he has done in his term as ruler.. sent the once flurishing economy into total ruin.. managed to let historical landmarks through out the country turn to rubble.. kill, maim, and murder all those with opposing opinions. Now you argue that the embargo is the reason this has taken place.. well the embargo is in place because of fidel's unwillingness to comply with basic human rights violations and his combatant attitude towards the United States.
