Re: CRX suspension Upgrades

this is on my 91 hatch

tokico blues
tein springs 1.3f/1.5r
Si rear sway
Full poly bushing kit

very simple setup that works GREAT. my alignment is modified just a little though. front is OE spec but the rear is toed out to the very edge of spec to help reduce under steer.

I tried to get my alignment zeroed in on neutral camber to help with contact patch.

I really need video of the car at WOT so I can see how much the front end lifts, and then set the camber at that height to neutral... that way, you get best contact patch when WOT, and you have a little more negative camber when cornering hard.

Thanks guys, I think I'll pick up some Teg sways at the yard this weekend, any input on tie rods, anything better than stock? Anything else, i should replace while i have the chance?

I am hoping to get over 250whp but would like the car to still handle well, thanks...matt

Do a front end inspection or if you feel you might not be qualified to do so bring it to a alignment/tire shop/mechanic whatever and have them do a full fromt end inspectio.Personally for what it costs I replace all the front end compenents such as upper, lower ball joints and tie rods then i have a solid platform to work with.I would really like to know what a CRX/Civic with a full suspenison job and Azenis would pull on the skid pad.My 90 Civic hatch has full urethane kit,H&R springs,Tokico's and SI sway bars along with Falken Azenis and it feels like it must be close to a 1G.

90-93 DA front bars are a bolt-in, just don't forget to get the inner bushings with the DA bar, or buy the Integra units from Energy Suspension. My implying that DA rear bars are an easy fit... well, it took me an hour and a half, but it involved Dremelling the rear DA sway bracket bolt holes so that the slightly larger rear towhook bolts would pass through them, and then cutting the DA bar down an inch on both sides so that everything lined up tits. Those bars, GC coilovers, AGXs, and Azenis with a good alignment = 1+ G's worth of cornering force. Playing around in a mall parking lot, I could yank the steering wheel as hard as possible at 30-35 mph, and the car would go without the front end sliding out whatsoever.

Here's one for ya Joe...this is something i personally did on my hatch, i would assume it's close to the same for a crx though. Remove the rear tow hooks from the car. Take the DA sway bar and swap the left and right side stock sway bar mount brackets. Now you have them opposite of how they would normally bolt onto the DA chassis. Take those 2 mounts, and if you notice, 2 out of the 3 holes for the tow-hook points will now line up with your sway bar mounts. You may have to drill the holes out slightly to get the bolts through, but they will line up perfectly on a hatch once it's mounted and bolted down. No cutting the sway bar down at all, just bolt it on. I'll post up some pics of it if ya guys want to see it. Now for my suspension:
Koni 5-way adjustable shocks
Ground Control coilovers
Billet aluminum LCA's
DA rear sway bar
E.S. Poly bushings
