CRX Stereo Problem, Xplocivic this ones for you!
Ok. I recently purchased a CDXM630 from Future shop here in Canada. I installed it and hook up everything. This is the first time I've had a stereo with an Illumination input wire. Basically it's supposed to dim the stereo when I turn the lights on so I dont get blinded at night.
So anways I wired it to the wire in the car. So I turn the stereo on to test it and everything works. I turn the headlights to the first setting (parking lights and int lights) and the display dims, ok, cool. So I turn the headlights on full (not highbeam) and the stereo shuts off immediately and then turns itself right back on. Wtf!? So I turn the lights back off and the unit stays on. weird. turn the lights to setting 1, dims, setting 2, turns off and on again. happens every time.
Anyone have ideas? I dont wanna hear it's wired wrong, cuz its not

Re:CRX Stereo Problem
hrm.. too much? isnt the max 12v?
the car was NOT running when this happened.
It's not the wiring!! its so simple for my stereo to be wired
const 12v
switched 12v
ground.
thats it all my speakers are amplified. just using the rca's

Re:CRX Stereo Problem
well yah thats the next step. I have one more thing to try. I'm going to plug it directly to the fuse box lights-on output and see what it does then.
Yah I know it's not gunna be that bright, but it was a neat little feature that i wouldnt mind..

yeah, on most modern stereo/ cd players, the faceplate doesn't have a backlit illumination display, so the screen is always at the same brightness. don't connect the illumination wire, see if that works

Re:CRX Stereo Problem, Xplocivic this ones for you!
what wires do u have hooked up? u dont have a power antenea im sure... but do u have a system? u only need the 11 wires to have it work, 12 with a system, and ill bet the 8 speaker wires arent your problem. id re check the ground wire, or maybe try grounding it manually, rather then the wire?? i dunno, just some ideas.

it is grounded manually. None of the speaker wiring is hooked up, all speakers amplified.
I'm going to try grounding using the OE ground wire.
this is damn weird!
