CRX HF vs GSXR 750
This is my boy Wes. Wes? Wes is a hardcore ----------er. He does not have 1.9 million dollars in his car. Hard work and perserverence pls kthx!
http://videos.streetfire.net/player....5-DC540B8C960D EDIT: changed URL to lower resolution/freebie streetfire hosting, to free up space on server. Turbo is one of those huge eGay SSAC Super T70 that takes a minute to spool on a low CR 1.8 liter. You can see Wes start to creep on the bike, then the guy hits his revlimit. Notice when he gets full back in it just as Wes pulls a little past him - no contest. Car makes 340 whp @ ?? psi. 404 whp with a 60 shot. Run against the bike was with spray. Bike owner wanted to cry. |

Re: CRX HF vs GSXR 750
The video was recorded with a Sony DCR-DVD403, brand spanking new. You probably have brand spanking old video codecs.

Re: CRX HF vs GSXR 750

Re: CRX HF vs GSXR 750

Re: CRX HF vs GSXR 750
Damn. One of the clearest videos ever posted on HMT. Very nice. More info on his setup! ^-^

Re: CRX HF vs GSXR 750
Search for K-lite codec pack + install. Took care of the problem on a friend's computer.
Make sure you DL the K-lite package with the spyware. Punks! |

Re: CRX HF vs GSXR 750
wow joey...you are the suck at hosting video's through other ppl's bandwidth...this ---- is d'ling slow as my wrx!
btw...g/f and i are getting married, i found 2 sentras for cheap (both 5 speed!), and i still haven't gottne a power supply!!!! O0 |
Re: CRX HF vs GSXR 750
mm bouncing stock tach = caused by aftermarket guage taking too much signal ??? or ignitor bad?
btw bad ass car, whats the setup. |
Re: CRX HF vs GSXR 750
hahahahaha crx's own
|
Re: CRX HF vs GSXR 750
That is a badass video, and an even badder CRX. Can't wait to see the stats on it. Its funny that even with a helmet on, you could still see the rider's complete look of confusion!!!

Re: CRX HF vs GSXR 750
Im the camara man on this one and you can imagine my suprise when that big ass ssac t70 got going the bike didnt have a chance. My boy chris is on the bike its an 02 750 that he just put sprockets in and didnt ever think that this race would have even been close.......lmao dont doubt the power of vtec.wes has worked his ass of on this car and like Joseph said hes not rich, alot of diy hrs put into it.Its a built ls vtec with the ssac t70 that is working great!!!??? he has been boosting for a while now but he just turned it up so we'll see how it does very stable so far.
I think were all going to bristol thursday so ill post some links to the video/videos we take.Oh the videos are so sweet cause we have this friend that likes to buy 700 dollar toys and the latest is a dvd403 handycam, off the hook!were also gonna be bringing a 93 sentra with a gtir swap that should run some pretty good times but my moneys on the crx, should make for some good vids.. |
Re: CRX HF vs GSXR 750
By far, my favorite kind of vid. Fast ------- ---- box's picking on the 'fast' guys. :)
Nice vid yo' Oh, and the vid played fine for me, you guys sure you dont have pink video cards? |
Re: CRX HF vs GSXR 750
I work with Wes and he is a very laid back guy, quite reserved, he was excited this morning when we all got there, telling us what happened. Now I have to wait 4EVER for this video to download. Hopefully it will be there when i wake up. My hats off to Wes and the work he has put into his CRX. ;D

Re: CRX HF vs GSXR 750
How fast did you get up to on that run?! It sure didn't look like it took long to peg out all of the needles!

89 CRX HF (let's hear it for sub 1900 lb rides) LS/VTEC Darton flanged sleeves (open deck design) with blockguard Eagles/Wisecos B17 head (whoopty - like it matters) 00-01 ITR cams aka CTR Some brand valvetrain or other DIY log manifold SSAC Super T70 (the ONLY good SSAC turbo) Edelbrock IM Precision 880cc Walbro 255 GM 3 bar MAP Crome There are some wierd glitches in the system - always a work in progress. Wes' Autometer Phantom was reading 15 psi when I was getting 9 off the ECU's datalogs. Tuned him to 15 psi @ ~11.2:1 AFR, then ran into boost spike problems going higher + time limits for the tuning session, so I dumped a bit more fuel into the higher psi range since Wes was feeling brave. He ended up running 9:1 AFRs on the dyno with the boost cranked up to ?? psi. Ignition timing is very conservative, needs advancing, and the AFRs need a cleanup. Currently revving to 8500, will probably turn it up to 9000 next time out. There's a good bit more power left to be made at the boost he's running - I'm frankly scared of it until he gets water injection/racefuel, and dyno time to do the ignition map properly. Something janky with the FITV, car won't idle correctly when it will idle. Clutch is iffy. And the stock tach problems started with the Blaster coil install - who knows? I suspect ignitor is going south. Car was hugely frightening to tune. Broken oh ---- handle, which I kept grabbing for, and the laptop kept trying to chuck itself of my lap and out the window when we'd hit "turbulence." At the power to weight to strip respectable crotch rockets, the car is a bit squirrelly. Like New orleans is a bit wet. |
Re: CRX HF vs GSXR 750
I have a feeling that there will be a shitbox delux showdown if mine ever gets back on the road...
Horay for the CRX HF |
Re: CRX HF vs GSXR 750
ahh, I got one of those super70's coming from SSAC for a gsr I'm doing in the next couple weeks, glad its working out for you guys.
Watching that vid just reminds me how much I miss my exgirlfriend... well her car anyways ;) Loved racing bikes on the freeway, the looks on their faces were just priceless. |
Re: CRX HF vs GSXR 750

Re: CRX HF vs GSXR 750
at first I was like aww what the hell? THen spoolage comes and just walks past him like he was standing still. That vid was crystal clear. We need more vids like those instead of the ones where I have to squint at it to try to figure out what it is. :-\
