Well I finally swapped the A6 with the blown head gasket out. Hotrex (Josh) found a complete B18A swap for $300 bucks locally and actually bought it for me. I paid him later for it. What a nice guy! I pulled the A6 out a few days ago. I prepped the B18 with a new timing belt, water pump, plugs, wrinkle painted the valve cover(yeah thats my ricer vice) and 2 brand new axles because I got them for free. I kept the clutch that came in it because I was unsure of the condition of the tranny and so was the guy I bought it from so I didnt want to get stuck with a big shaft clutch if I could only find a 90-91 tranny. The engine was from an auto so it had EGR ---- on it so I swapped the intake manifold with a 92 LS I had.
I got aluminum mounts, shift linkage, rear tranny bracket and a teg throttle cable was ready to go. My neighbor Wes (with the turbo 2.5RS) gave me a hand stuffing the motor and tranny in. It went fairly smooth. I installed a cheap, $70 shipped, eghey header because I can't find a stock manifold around here. I just made a flanged connector to my 3" Kteller exhaust.
It had a few minor issues. Oring on the fuel rail leaked. Easy fix. Then I had a coolant leak at the throttle body. It turns out the metal nipple coming from the TB had a pin hole. I just bypassed it. I have extra TB's but need a new gasket. It fired right up. The idle was insanely high. I found the fast idle diaphram to blame. I must have the vaccuum hose wrong so I just rerouted them and bypassed that gay valve.
The car is retarded loud with the 3" exhaust. I thought it would be a little more tolerable because I used a piece of 2.5" to connect the header to the 3". I was wrong. Its almost unbearable. There is virtually no low end.
All in all it seems to run well. I have to build a manifold and DP soon or I will have to buy some mad tite JDM ebay exhaust for now. The car is slow as ***** compared to the A6 on 10psi even with the blown head gasket. On to the pics.
Check out my sweet air intake. Can you believe that took only 2 minutes to make? :P
Here is the bitch idle valve in question. I am thinking or removing it all together.
Thanks to all the guys that helped out in the Hybrid section. Its running on the stock A6 harness with a chipped OBD0 PR4 I had laying around. No codes at all. When the OBDI distro get here I will install my chipped P75 and my OBDI conversion crap back in.

Well I have a bit of 3" SS left and some bends. I have everything to make a miniram manifold and I ordered a 3" flex section today. If I dont get too lazy I will make the manifold this week some time.

I may boost it first. I ahve everything already made except the mani and DP so that would be easiest. I'm going conservative anyway. maybe 9 lbs max. I'm hoping to last the whole season on this old *** motor. I may build something over the winter if we don't sell or house soon.
