CRX 90 Si Prop Valve
 

Can anyone with a 90-91 CRX Si confirm the stampings on the prop valve? I thought it was 4040, now im seeing it might be a 2040.

if anyone has a 90-91 CRX Si Prop Valve laying around can you snap some photo's or atleast tell me the stampings on it. MUST BE 90-91 CRX Si ONLY, not a teg.

its not that important what the stamp is dude, but will it work with what i am doing. is the 2040 good for a rear disc swap?

well I was told that the prop valve i sent you was from a 90 CRX Si.

Some1 just IM'd me on HT and said he checked his stock prop valve his 91 CRX Si (OEM rear disks) and its' stamped 2040.. so this coo for ya?

so that tells me the valve should be good for a rear disk swap.

well which master cylinder and brake booster you think i should use? I have the stocker and a 13/16 i think the other one is(off an ex w/ABS)

90-91 Civic EX uses a 15/16" the 90-91 CRX Si w/ rear disks uses a 7/8".

if you're really after a firm pedal, get braided stainless lines first... most of the stock pedal travel goes into expanding the rubber lines. a larger master cylinder will decrease overall travel but increase your pedal effort. you're effectively giving yourself worse leverage against the brake slave cylinders. you could get a larger booster to decrease pedal effort, but you're really working around a weak link in the system.
a larger master cylinder is only necessary if, after bleeding the brakes, you can press the brake pedal all the way to the floor without locking up your tires.
